Orange UK chief Tom Alexander said yesterday that a review of the planned service had concluded it was too similar to BT Vision, Reuters reports. "No rollout imminent," he said.

Orange have now, like Vodafone, decided to go with BT wholesale broadband, rather than roll out it's own LLU network.
It can also start offering this to T mobile customers later.

However with parents France Telecom and T networks having large IPTV systems in France and Germany, might mean they might offer a rebadged BT Vision/Canvas IPTV service in the UK?

An Orange spokesman said: "Whilst we have made massive improvements to our network over the past two years, with our new leadership position in the UK market, we don't just want to provide a good customer experience - we want it to be exceptional."
They added that the BT deal will allow it to maintain and improve its network performance and "take advantage of future technology developments", such as home and TV entertainment services, and to expand its fixed broadband service for business customers.
