I don't know why though but I have this fear that she won't because of the Cowell connection. I mean if Leona didn't win for Spirit/Bleeding Love/Echo etc then I often wonder if anyone will (apart from 1D obviously, but their BRITS are public voted awards)

Ella is a songwriter though, and she didn't win either. It's a bit different. She was on the show, but she's far more lowkey than Leona was when she got her Spirit related noms.
To be totally realistic and honest.
Female will probably go to Paloma Faith. She is the IN thing this year sadly. I do think Ella might be in 2nd place though. It IS possible that she could win but lets see...!
Winning the single award will be TOUGH - she will have to compete with 3 jaggernaut songs of the year including Uptown Funk, Thinking Out Loud, Stay With Me - i think she'll end up 4th in the poll. I think Ed or Uptown Funk will easily win this.
My predictions for the winners are
Male - Sam Smith
Female - Paloma Faith
Group - Royal Blood
Breakthrough - Sam Smith (voted for by the public)
Single - Thinking Out Loud - Ed
Album - X by Ed Sheeran
Video - Uptown Funk - MR & BM
International - Foo Fighters, Taylor Swift and Hozier
However, big congratulations to her getting nominated.
You just have to sell your soul to Cowell & his friends.
The cowell connection is the only reason she's famous. Her music would have sunk without trace without his & Clifford's publicity machine.
And don't think he wouldn't have pulled a few strings to get her a nomination in order to push her faked credentials as a serious artist.
Next thing she'll be doing a charity single on BBC.
So Ella getting a nomination is nothing to do with her #1 single and album?
Cowell's connection can be both a help and hindrance. Look at Leona. She wouldn't have been famous without him, but it's strongly believed that because of her connection to him Bleeding Love and Spirit didn't win, plus her nominations for Best Female.
