One of those shows that make me wonder
how the hell they were comissioned in the
first place.Total crap with scumbag guests
and an absolute ****** of a presenter.
just my opinion of course!
When Trisha left ITV in 2004 or 05, she hosted a similar show to this and ITV needed a replacement quickly. As ITV was going through its very low brow phase at the time, they decided on Jeremy Kyle to host an even more obnoxious show than Trisha, who at least tried to be nice at times, as they knew it would get the same audience. However, I think Jezza has had his day and it's time ITV tried something a bit easier going as they have lost a lot of viewers to the gentler shows on BBC One.

In fairness Trisha has been there with A LOT of issues - I give her credit where her credit is due, plus she wouldn't chastise people for a pay cheque.
Also, what is the point of the audience? They can NOT speak out because Jezza says so. At least on Trisha there was input! Maybe if this was Azerbaijan, Russia or North Korea I could understand no audience interaction!
Although I am playing Devil's Advocate here but why not "Food Glorious Food" in that slot? Could get a healthy audience
After reading this article my answer is a definite YES.
I had never watched it until very recently when I started going to a new gym and somehow it always seems to be on the screen by the steppers when I'm there. It's a vile show and how people can ever want to subject themselves to it I will never understand.
When is the time for The Jeremy Kyle show to be axed? What date/year did it originally air? That's the time it should be axed. Some sort of time machine is needed though.
I miss trisha she really listened to her guests and seem to want to help with their problems where as the jeremy kyle show seems to be about dna tests and winding up guests.
alot of people on the show are very uneducated to see how badly they are coming accross I hate the show should be axed
I've never watched it so can't really comment but from the trailers I'm genuinely surprised that anyone would watch it (and disappointed that they obviously do). I'm capable of watching as much shite as the next person but this seems to be a particulary nasty kind of programme.
Just so! I've tried to watch it a few times, but can't seem to get through more than about ten minutes before I have to quit. And the episodes all seem the SAME!
It still gets over a million viewers a day and it's often really funny. Just because a few anoraks can't use their remote doesn't mean a show should be axed.
Who cares? It's a show for the unemployed, watched by the unemployed. Don't waste your time complaining about daytime TV. What do you expect! Anyway I'm sure it's viewers watch it. The show is quite popular but what would I know, I have a job!

Tough one. I'm all for freedom of choice etc...but this is an outfit that sets out to manipulate, deceive, demean and often outright bully people. Everyone involved seems none too bothered about ruining relationships/families in the name of "entertainment". Exploitation on such a scale as to be almost unmatched by anything else on British TV.
If it became more honest and transparent then it would be harder to take issue with...but then less people would tune in, probably. I think the show in it's current form does indeed deserve axing but I don't hold out much hope of it happening any time soon.

I think it's a despicable, nasty show and really Ofcom should step in and ban it.

Trisha was/is better than JK but the audience interaction was awful and sometimes to the point of damaging. There were times when there would be a serious story like child abuse or domestic violence and then the audience would vote for if they thought they were lying or telling the truth.
While I would never watch JK, why should ITV axe it when so many watch it?....
I concur 100%. Not my but, as opposed to the BBC, ITV isnot supported by the licence payer and do, therefore, rely on advertising and profit making ventures, the latter to a greater degree than the BBC, I would have thought. Evidently, his show is compulsive viewing for a lot of people many of whom, because of the time of original transmission, do not work and are able to watch it. It takes a certain type of person to want to appear on this show, to be willing to 'air their dirty linen' in public. I think people do assume that, in order to be able to watch it - "don't worry about them; they should be at work" (as JK says) - viewers are a certain 'type'. But many people watch at work, or see the repeats or even sky+ it. Perhaps they see this genre for what it is: tv not to be taken seriously, tv which does not require one to think too much. Basically, taking it easy tv.
Whenever I do watch tv, it is to gain knowledge - that is just the way I am. So my viewing consists of documentaries, especially on serial killers, historical/factual programmes, true to life, But I can appreciate that, for a lot of people, watching tv is a way of relaxing, of spending time with the family.
Although I don't watch/like this type of show, I realise there is a market for it. I do feel that the format leaves the participants open to dangerous situations. I'm sure the show's producers would bring Graham out as protection that nothing perilous ever does occur. Like another poster said, Graham is not - in my opinion - a strong, psychological expert. What are his qualifications to do the job?
I watched the Mick Philpott section on the web last night, and couldn't help but feel sympathy for JK. Imagine knowing you had laughed with, and shaken the hand of, such a vile, narcissistic human being.

so much for the counselling and support.

It's no worse and no better than ITV2
Yep, he has a website too if you want to google it, got information on what he has done and apparently qualified for. Eeek.

I remember reading that article when it was published. Still a shocking read to this day.

That is really quite disturbing
