So much for many turning off, Robbie keeping the 'under prediction seat' warm I see, of course nobody would turn off

    We did.

We watched a recording of the TdF highlights at half time and returned to the football at the end.

    Those numbers defy all logic.

11.52m average! :o I thought it would be a massive peak but expected average somewhere between 8 and 9m. No way that high! That must be one of the ratings of the tournament.

5 minute peak just short of 14m! :o Definitely is the rating of the tournament and surprising this came on a weekday night as well! Great choice from the BBC again.

Germany's extraordinary 7-1 victory over Brazil was watched by a huge peak audience of 13.98m/57.8% last night. @GaryLineker

Just to say I have never seen such an overeaction to a promo in all my life. Whether it was any good or not who cares it was a minute of time which most will have already forgotton about.

    Well said.

As GMB recorded one of its lowest averages so far, 500,000 on Monday, it looks like only the Second Coming live could save it.

Where was that GMB figure reported?

My mistakes ftv, Bushmills posted it yesterday.

Channel 5's factual gets some good numbers. I'd say it's definitely rh e channel's strength.

    "@overnightstv: #thedogrescuers maintained a solid performance with 1.2m/5.8% on C5 at 8pm, with further 117.3k/0.5% http://t.co/Gu75jKfL7Z"

Maybe not, but he was the majority cause and I think if the boot was on the other foot some on here wouldn't feel quite so supportive of him if he was slagging off the BEEB 24/7.

I imagine last nights rating ploughed through everything else last night.

I'm not saying the Brazil match is a bad rating but there's a bit of faux-surprise going on here. It is a World Cup semi-final after all. If it averaged 20m+, then we're talking "stunning!" IMO.

The football is about what you would expect for a semi-final featuring the hosts, broadcast in the late evening.

What did the news after the football get on BBC1? And any Brazil result boost for the breakfast shows?
