There's a big difference between stars who cut their hair for a part, and stars who had their hair cut ON SCREEN. As in, Natalie's was actually cut on screen.
Suburbia! Just remembered a scene of a young girl cutting a little boy's hair and shaving the sides to give him a Mohawk on screen.
Didn't Audrey Hepburn have her hair cut in a film? I think the one where she becomes a nun? EDITED: Yes. A Nun's Story. Here's a snippet of the hair-cutting scene: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Man0DywvP8

It's as if Audrey Hepburn was continuously drawn to roles that saw her character's hair being cut at some point! Her characters in Roman Holiday and Sabrina also went from long to short styles.
Oh what an idiot I've been. I wrote a post thinking that the thread was asking for actors who have lost their looks on screen. Now I notice that it says 'locks'.:D
I only noticed when reading back through some posts on this page everyone was talking about hair. Which I thought was weird. 'What on earth is going on?' I thought. Then I read the thread title again.

Marlon Brando in 'Apocalypse Now.'....or was he naturally bald?
Tom Hardy.
I remember Elizabeth Taylor having her hair cut off as a punishment in 'Jane Eyre'. She was a child star and played Jane Eyre's friend in the film. That scene really shocked me at the time.

Actually a bald 'wig' if I recall...
And she lost her locks at the end of Elizabeth when Elizabeth I was transformed into the Virgin Queen.
The mohawk he had was a (very convincing) wig.

Deborah Kerr- 'King Solomon's Mines'

You can watch the emotional experience of Persis getting her head shaved.

I imagine Deborah Kerr had her hair cut short for "Heaven Knows Mr Allison".

Mark
Victor Mature in Samson and Delilah.:D
Never saw it happen on screen though
Tom Hardy.

Is there actual a haircut scene in Heaven Knows Mr Allison?
I thought she suited the buzz cut. I'm sure the fee increase she negotiated for it at the time softened the blow as well.
He was also bald in Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.
