How does that invalidate his argument?

It doesn't, I'm just showing one of quite a few examples of why I personally feel he is a hypocrite and I'm not remotely interested in his opinions.

I used to enjoy the BB aftershow when he hosted it.
It was fun crazy viewing, some light-relief after the main show.

The good old days of Dermot doing BBLB and Russell doing BBBM.

Even if the BB series was crap, they could be relied on to make the spin offs worth watching

I agree. BBBOTS is supposed to be an upgraded version on Big Brother's Big Mouth..............it doesn't even come close. Anytime the crowd makes a decent or serious point about something, Rylan or Emma will quickly take the microphone away and make some sarcastic comment and try and laugh it off. It drives me mad.

90 minutes of the shite again tonight with only 60 minutes for an eviction. Why is more and more time taken away from what this show is supposed to be about. The house, not the utter trash that is BOTS.>:(

I completely agree. I keep recording it to watch the next day, but end up deleting it as know it's more a platform to promote the guests who half of them don't even watch the show.

Totally agree, I spend more time fast forwarding than watching.

Some people are too thick to understand that having a social conscience has eff all to do with how much money you personally possess and they don't understand the difference between socialism and communism. They need people like BILLIONAIRE AUSTRALIAN Rupert Murdoch to tell them what to think in one of his lying rags.

Things like the world recession is the fault of some Herbert with 15 kids who's claiming Jobseekers Allowance and had nowt whatsoever to do with a load of greedy amoral bankers who should really be rotting in prison.

Russel Brand's on the money here. And she does have the face she deserves. The image of Hopkins with her beak of hate trying to drive a wedge into the issue put into words exactly what I feel when I see her launch into one of her rants. Well said, Brand.

Makes it even sadder that Hopkins has so much support among BB fans.

Katie Price was wrong when she said the government paid for her son's cab fares to school and there is no way on earth they pay a £1000 a week for it either. Transport for children with disabilities is paid for by the local authority and it is their duty to transport them to and from school. Local Authorities have contracts with bus and cab companies and pay a set rate that is a lot lower than you and I would pay. This benefit is her sons and his by right and law. It doesn't matter how much money she has, it is HIS benefit, not hers. I have a disabled son and none of his benefits take into account how much money I have.

If it wasn't illegal for me, I'd be posting Katie Hopkins's full accounts, and how she runs her business at a loss, so she pays barely no tax. I'm sick of hearing her name now.

Disability is different to benefits, and no one should have anything taken off them, because a parent is well off.
Absolutely. In the end it's all about reducing a tiny bit of stress on the parent/s who invariably are carers as well. Although, this can be negligible when a huge amount of their children's lives is spent fighting local authorities to make sure their child is supported adequately.

    Agree

And look how much tax she has paid into the coffers? She hasn't pissed-off abroad to avoid taxes like so many others with a few bob has she?

Look how much she's raised for the charities that support children like Harvey?

I'm no fan of hers but knocking her for this is out of order IMO

The biggest loophole is the one most of the upper class use, having a company, and dissolving it within 2 years, so they don't pay tax.

Don´t forget the massive asset-stripping which is happening unabated.

There is room for debate about which benefits should be means tested.
However, if one is eligible for a benefit there is no shame in claiming it.

In terms of cost to the taxpayer, tax avoidance and evasion are far bigger problems - reportedly £150 billion a year.

I agree. But people tend to go for easy targets, as Russell Brand says to use as an opportunity to vent their anger.

If Katie Price pays her taxes then of course she's entitled to draw certain benefits, like everybody else. She probably pays a lot in taxes so it wouldn't even be as if she's a strain on the system.

Would she be able to use a public library, or would she be told that she can't use it because she can afford to buy books?

I agree with most of his points. "We all pay into our democratic system, whether it's income tax, VAT, NI, Death duties bla bla". We are all citizens of status and value. Long live democracy and any attempt to chip away at it in this manner is worrying. Katie P has also probably put in far more than most people in this country.

Loved the squawking vicious crow/ Katie Hopkins analogy. It fits perfectly. And from the woman who supports and wants more Tax avoidance schemes for the wealthy. And only the wealthy from private schools to be entitled to a University education.

As he said, the people signing off newspaper articles attacking benefit claimants and any right of right wing rubbish she spouts are wealthy taxation avoiders.

"Pecking away at reality with wickedness". :D

I also liked his comments about people picking on this example simply to release their "pent up feelings" about social security generally, or class or race, etc.

Bravo. You've nailed it there IMO. Love the distinction between socialism and communism. It's like any celeb who has a social conscience must apparently give their money away and wear sackcloth and ashes. I don't have a problem with anyone who accumulates piles of wealth so long as they've not earned it off the back of someone else's misery and aren't abusing their power to maintain a corrupt status quo.

Russell is right up my ideological strasse. In fact, he's kinda my perfect man.
