Mick's dreadful acting over the Christmas period

I think Danny Dyer has been totally out of his depth during the more emotional scenes. I'm referring to the three main scenes:

1. Linda telling him in the bedroom that she had been raped.

2. His rant in the living room when he tells his sister and father that Dean raped Linda.

3. When he attacks Dean in the pub.

At no point did I believe this was a man who had just found out his partner had been raped. The faces he was pulling were quite ridiculous really. It is some of the worst acting i've seen on one of the big soaps.

No wonder the guy has been involved with so many dreadful films.

If the producers have any sense they will get rid of this chancer. They have the perfect opportunity with this storyline. All they have to do is get Mick to kill Dean and then lock him up for life. Send him back to his low budget British films. The man is out of his depth.

I couldn't disagree more, I thought he was brilliant. And he and Kellie have wonderful chemistry. I think he brought the storyline to life where another actor/character could've failed dismally.

Same here - previously, DD has not been the best of actors, but over Christmas he really did impress.

There is a reason why he's better known for his thug documentaries than his movies. The man can't act. He is absolutely dreadful.

when it was announced that Danny Dyer was joined Eastenders i was very sceptical about how he would fit it in but in the last year i think he has been wonderful, both him and Kellie Bright

I think Danny Dyer has done a wonderful job as Mick, and even more so over the last couple of days. Mick's a gutted man over what happened to Linda, and Dyer's performance made me believe it. Looking forward to seeing where this story progresses once it picks up again in the middle of January.

I agree OP, I thought his acting was poor, especially in comparison with the actors playing Stan, Shirley and Linda. THEY were believable; he was not.

Whenever he has to do a love scene with Linda he turns my stomach with the way he looks at her - it's like he is in a porn movie. And the way he goes "bay-bee" is horrible too.

I guess I am just not a DD fan; I never knew him before EE and I have no intention of knowing him after it either.

    totally disagree with the OP.

How exactly is the correct way for someone to act in such a scenario?

Danny Dyer did shock wonderfully and i thought he did an exceptional job, as someone else said him and kellie bright have amazing onscreen chemistry.

Think all of the Carters/Wicks were outstanding even Dean who's character we are supposed to hate but Matt D is doing a great job making us all hate him .....sympathize and hate him again.

I love Danny as an actor , but it has been very cringey :( the bedroom proposal was terrible as if he was just reading it from a script, and last night, his squinting eyes were almost closed in some of the scenes, he looked like he was constipated.

Please Danny, give it up :( I love you but this is not working.

It's the ridiculous faces he pulls which is the problem. It's just so amateurish.

Cringe is the perfect way to describe it. That's how I feel whenever he pulls these silly faces which are in no way believable.

Sometimes people are cringeworthy in real life too (even though I don't think DD is).

Danny Dyer was fantastic over the Christmas period, and I think he has really grown as an actor! Mick has become so popular lately and the fans love him! Twitter and Facebook are FULL of so much praise for him, so I'm gonna have to disagree with you there!;)

In your opinion but a vast number including me disagree.

Love Danny, plus setting up threads simply to bash an actor is pathetic. Your opinion did not warrant a new thread with all the existing EE threads.

No, in real life he is gorgeous and lovely ( on the whole, lol) but in EE his constant squinting as if he is trying to focus on the person in front of him, just isn't working.

Clearly is working though, as the ratings are on the up, and 9 out of 10 people are praising him?😂

    When you're seeing tweets saying...

'Danny Dyer is brilliant in EastEnders'

    &

'EastEnders is getting so good now', 'I'm getting into EastEnders again!', 'EastEnders is so addictive rn'...

I don't really see how you can say it isn't working?:/:/:/

That's just in character for Mick. Some people do act weird, even though I don't really see this 'squinting' thing you mention.

    Agreed
Dyer doesn't suit the big family man IMO

It was pretty bad. No wonder Dyer isn't getting any work in films anymore.
