What things were you Most disappointed with at their conclusion ?
I remember all my life the big thing about a Brit (man) winning Winbledon. Was seen almost as like conquering Everest or landing on the moon.
When Murray did win, it was like "Ahhh, that was nice", and that was it.

We got there and it is shiit, nothing worth seeing at all, total let down.
Finally finding an old school friend on Facebook I was very close to, after a long time of searching and 20 years later turned out to be a bore.
2nd vote for that.
Didn't see this but the Sopranos! Disappointing. :-(
And Dexter. LOL that was bad.
Haha, yes.
Yep one wonders where they went..
God yes, you always build it up (doesn't help that it's in the shops from August) and then 25th December finally comes and it's like "is that it"
Rammed down your throat from the middle of October and over in a day.
Same here, someone I was close to from being very young but lost touch with after we all left school and she left the area. Finally got back in contact last year after twenty five years and all she does is post inane baby talk statuses to her 12 year old daughter. We have nothing in common whatsoever. I'd thought we'd reminisce and have a laugh but no.
Absolutely. The Millennium.
It was made out to be THE event of a lifetime.
By January 1st you realised it was just another year.
It was with an older and more experienced partner; a dream come true for any 14-year old boy!
However, it was all over in minutes and not at all what I expected.
........I’ve hated ‘Uncle Frank’ ever since. >:(
Having a flat of my own was great, but after a month, it was "**** this, I want to go home."
The reality of washing up, cooking, bills, cleaning, noisy neighbour, boredom, etc. had completely murdered my vision of lounging around the flat between parties. Also my vision of throwing a dinner party every week? Hahahahaha. After two parties (one was a disaster and the other was a bigger disaster), I ended up having four takeaway menus pinned to a wall above the phone. Much easier.
A lot (but not all) of them have been hyped up as being majestic pillars of civilization.....but in reality they don't live upto expectation or have been ruined by tourist traps/vendors around them...... From my experience
1) The Great Pyramids- you think it's going to be like this

but in reality its right by the urban sprawl of Giza with it's fast food outlets, car parks and smog

2) Stonehenge: actually smaller than you think and is right next to a dual carriageway (I believe they are planning on moving this though)
3) The Colosseum, the building itself is great, no disappointment there, but there were irritating guys dressed as Romans who swarm around outside and try to get into your picture (without asking) for a tip. They could get aggressive with tourists and often row with each other. They Spoiled the experience. This was a few years ago though and I hear the Italian police are clamping down on them! Hope they do.
I heartily agree.
