It is a scary thought, but being a horse appears to be my natural calling.

I like horses, I think being a horse would be fun. You get to be groomed by Merlin, and ridden by Arthur, run in a field and toss your hair about, and then when they've finished with you, you're left in your stable in peace and quiet. At least you don't have to wear a mustard coloured dress, and have constant demands to do dusting, run baths and fetch dinner. Poor Natarhi is run ragged by Lady Star. At least Princess Smint isn't quite so demanding and I've managed to give the dusting duties to Sir Gwaine and Sir Percival for now.

I cannot trust such a mighty sword in the hands of a maid  Lowri will have to take charge of Excalibur, Keren can handle it once it and its owner have left the banquet hall ;)

Pfft, Prince Arthur lets me handle it all night long when we're on our quests. But if it makes you feel better, Lady Lowri can handle it at the banquet. :p

Well, these night time quests have really messed me up. It's 3am and I'm wide awake <sigh>.

Exactly my thinking. You wouldn't ask a horse to mop the floor, clean the toilets or fetch dinner. In fact, I have my own servant (Merlin) doing that for me. :D And my only duty is carried out with Arthur's firm thighs wrapped around me. I even get to carry his swords and crown jewels. What not to like? :D

Oh no. :( But you are not alone. Merlin and Arthur have also been on your night time quests and are equally affected by sleeplessness in the middle of the night. Don't ask me how I know. A horse never tells!

I've been wondering what sort of horse Avi8 actually is

Arthur already has two destriers and I don't think Avi8 is big and muscular enough, despite them being described as: "a specialist mount, rare and very expensive"

She could be a palfrey, bred for general purpose travel and endurance, and we all know Avi8 can go on and on . . .

Or a courser which are desribed as long-winded

Or just an old nag ;)

    I'm going for palfrey

PS Apologies for not being around much - didn't finish work until 9.30 last night and barely had time to think, let alone write!

Words fail me. Well, obviously they do, given that I am a horse. You'd better watch out Smint. Princess or not, you are still frail human flesh and I can trample you in an instant.

And for the record, I am Prince Arthur's prized chestnut mare. The most valuable thing he owns after his crown jewels.

ETA: That said, I do feel rather like an old nag today. It is 10 o'clock and I have not stopped nagging children and then chasing up after them and my incompetent husband all morning. EG in a conversation with the passport office, I found out my husband wrote the wrong DOB on my daughter's passport application, I have spent ages with the head of department asking her to speak to my son about a wonderful opportunity the school has offered him which he is turning down because he is a stroppy 15 year old, and I am still trying to get into contact with the health centre to ask why another son has not been called by them to routine vaccinations.

Days like this, I wish I really was a horse.

Ditto! I didn't expect to have to spend half an hour with my boss this morning discussing the meaning of the word "re-open"

If I was a horse, I could have just said, "Neigh" . . . and stomped on his foot. Hard :D

And I'm sure you are his beloved mare . . . of the night ;)

Demanding  Lady Star is not demanding! I'm easy to look after, hell I don't even know where Nat is half the time she has so much freedom. For any job she does she gets rewarded, trust me for the rewards she receives its more than worth it ;) And I'd never let her wear any horrible mustard dresses

You can handle it all night long Keren ;).. just not in the banquet hall infront of people, you'd be waving it all over the place and some of us (Morgana) really don't want to see Arthur's sword flashed in our faces. :)

    I don't wish I was a horse, I AM a horse - Prince Arthur's. :D

The fact that someone as intelligent and witty as Smint wants to be one too just goes to show what a great choice it was.

Merlin is coming in soon to check me over and feed me some nuts. :D

. . . while you wait for Arthur to saddle you up, straddle you, slap you on the rump and whip you over a few fences with the bit between your teeth :)

Don't worry lady Star, I'm more than happy with my job. :) The rewards definitely make up for any small inconveniences. ;)

Ooo-er. Why did I wait until just before the children are due home to read this? Ideally, I could do with half an hour alone now. :o

Just contemplate the beauty that is Prince Arthur. The blushes are because, as a mother of four, I really should be paying my children some attention now.

I was going to see if I could take the comment down, but then Star has quoted it, so it will still be there to read....

Instead, can I just blame Smint for writing such a naughty suggestive comment in the first place? I mean, how else is a red-blooded woman supposed to react to such a suggestive remark? :o:mad::D

    No you can't blame me!

I made a perfectly valid and INNOCENT comment about how Arthur might treat his horse - that is all!

Using the innocent smile smilie does nothing to prove your innocence Keren :p

I'm sure I've said far worse in this thread.. :o

This is exactly what Smint does Avi.. she posts suggestive comments that could be innocent but you know they are meant another way and when you call her up on it she claims innocence.. luckily for us we all know thats far from the truth :p

*wanders into thread and wonders if things could possibly get any more surreal in here?* :D

    Evening All :)

Have I had a busy day or what? :( Up at the crack of 10.30am, followed by a leisurely fried breakfast cooked for me by Aithusa and then 7 solid hours of watching Morgana trying on various outfits for Saturday night's festivities, interrupted only by her pausing every 10mins to nibble my ears and practice her party piece of making my sword dance without actually having to hold it...:D

Tbh I don't know how much longer I can stand the strain of living like this...I'll see how I feel about it in about 200 years time :D

    Evening my good Sir *curtsies*

I too have had a very trying day

First of all I was woken up at 11am from someone jousting outside, noisy hooves .. Avi was it you? and then I waited for Natarhi to bring me my brunch.. got dressed and I came to see if Morgana was free but the 'Do not Disturb' sign was on your door so I carried on past :)

I spent the rest of the day having a wonderful picnic with Sir Mordred, only to come back to a wonderful bath that my beloved maid had drawn for me. I'm exhausted just thinking back on it :D

Evening m'lady *bows and attempts to look sternly at ward*

My dear star! I've told you before that a delicate thing like you needs to take things easier and yet here you are getting out of bed before lunch, walking all the way to our rooms next door (a good 10 yards at least!) and then wandering off on a picnic with Mordred  and I bet you carried his sword for him the whole time, didn't you? :D

Tbh I was going to tell Morgana about my concerns but she's already in a bit of a flap about Saturday night and I don't want to add to her worries by telling her about you cramming far too much into each and every day and dashing about all over the place :D

I know and I tried to stay in bed but the noisy knights woke me up riding and playing with their lances

It wasn't too bad, I rode on Sir Mordred's horse to the lake and then sat on the rug all afternoon and then rode back. Handle his sword in broad daylight  of course I didn't :)

Ohno please don't worry Morgana with nonsense about me. Tell her I'l meet her for lunch tomorrow to discuss Saturday night :D

I'd say they couldn't, but then two days ago I never would have thought they'd get this surreal. :D
