    For me it's:

    Last scene of Bladerunner
    The Marseillaise scene in Casablanca
Closing scenes in Linklater's Before Sunset and Before Sunrise

Also, if any of you like grown up films as opposed to the Hollywood dross that seems to form much of the discussion on here, go and see Ain't Them Bodies Saints. Just seen it today and it's brilliant. Normally I get up and clear off as soon as the lights come up but I had to compose myself (i.e wipe away the tears:o) before leaving. Marvellous film.

    The Champ
    Ring of Bright Water
    Where The Red Fern Grows
    Old Yeller

Just avoid these films, don't go there!

Of course the ending of ET, it's the music - epic!
All of Les Miserables (Well the clue is in the title)
And one of my favourites: "Close Encounters Of The Third Kind" when Richard Dreyfuss walks into the spaceship and turn around to look back.... (Again the music drive it)

Grave of the Fireflies is the true king of upsetting films.

I would challenge anyone to watch that film with a dry eye. I was a wreck afterwards:o! If you don't even shed a tear, you can't have a soul!

Other films for me include My Girl and Lion King.

Forest Gump, A Walk To Remember and Jack are three off the top of my head that always get me.

The Road (both the book and the film) is a sad story. It's just so hopeless and bleak. Being a father I can relate to the utter desperation and fear of having to survive day to day in a post-apocalyptic nightmare whilst caring for a young son. The thought of him being constantly hungry would be enough to want to jack it all in.

My mrs at Les Mis. Like a water balloon with holes in.

Can't remember the last time i cried. Could have been Watership Down when i was about 9.

I Spit on your Grave brought tears to my eyes but for different reasons.

If anyone has a spare 30 mins "Grandpa"

Think watching it back now it made me very emotional as both my granddads were like this, full of imagination, endless stories, lots of cuddles, pottered about in the garden with them and the dogs.... And then they were gone :-(

I watched this last night before I went to bed, very emotional

films with love where the guy or girl seems to realise they are in love with each other and didn't know before
leap year does this for me when he wakes on the bench and thinks she's got on the bus and left him and she comes out the shop behind him
hubby cries at the glasses scene in my girl..we can't even talk about it without him having 'something in his eye'

This happened to me last night...I was watching Just Go With It and the bit where they tell each other what they love about each other even though they're not together made me well up  Not the best film ever but I certainly had a teary moment :o

Yes. Lovely film. I recently picked up a special edition of it with both the theatrical release and the director's cut. Also included were a CD of the soundtrack and an extras disc. All for the princely sum of £5.

Yes the part when Bruce Willis swaps places with Ben Affleck so he can go on to marry his daughter gets me every time.

I forgot ET too and The Champ (powerful acting from John Voight)
