Paying NI after the age of 60

I have just reached the age of 60 and am still working. I've noticed on my payslips that under NI contributions it says 00.00.
I asked the accountant and she says I no longer pay NI as I am now 60. But as I do not get my state pension until I am 66, is this correct? The numerous websites just baffle me.

When you stop paying depends on what your circumstances are and your gender.
If you are male and were born 1/1/55, you will pay NI until "You’ll reach State Pension age on 1 January 2021."
edit on first reading I thought you were saying 60 was correct but I think I may have misinterpreted
how much did you get paid on that payslip, and what is your pay frequency? ie. weekly pay, monthly pay, 4 weekly, fornightly, etc?

if you were paid less than £153 a week or £663 a month, you wouldn't normally pay NIC if your pay is calculated correctly
in regards to stopping NIC's when you reach retirement age, your employer should only be stopping NIC deductions if you've provided a certificate of age exemption, which based on what you are saying, sounds like you haven't provided
so it would sound like you didn't pay NIC as you weren't paid enough and the accountant didn't bother checking, and gave an answer based on the old pension age rules
