Zonealarm - problem with latest update

Has anybody using the free version of Zonealarm experienced problems with the latest update from a few days ago? Since installing it, my computer nearly grinds to a half whenever my download speed comes anywhere near full speed. Tried disabling Zonealarm, and everything was fine.

    ZoneAlarm has gone down the pan over recent years. I'd advise a better Internet security package, such as Kaspersky.

    Yes, I might have to look elsewhere, if I can't find a solution to this problem.

    Seems like it might have something to do with multiple connections. I use a download manager for almost everything, which opens about 10 connections to max out my speed. It seems to work OK with just one connection, but once it starts opening a few, my CPU maxes out and nearly locks up the computer.
