I don't think it's intentional, but when all the zombies are running down the street falling over each other like some undead wave i burst out laughing! I'll reserve my judgement until i've seen the full trailer, but that looks naff based on that 23 seconds of footage.
It's brief but it looks absolutely fine. Love the fact that there's so many that they just run and fall over each other. It honeslty looked great. I remember one of the original screenplay writers said that he wrote scenes where the zombies - because there's so many - are literally like a tidal wave of bodies when they attack. The scenes in the clip pretty much confirmed that.
I really hope the movie turns out ok. The plan is for it to be a trilogy. So here's hoping for success.

The zombie horde running looks like they are being poured out of a giant plate.
I'll wait for the full trailer before I fully make up my mind, but I'm not impressed so far. Don't like the look of the zombies and "only one man can save the world"?? Doesn't that destroy the whole point of the book?
....but it shows footage from 28 Days/Weeks, Day/Dawn of the Dead and a few Resident Evil films. Am I missing something? Is this for real or a piss take?

Looks like that Will Smith film.....it'll come to me. CGI zombies that run and jump, but this time during the day. I know i'll watch it as i'm a Z fan.
I thought they finished it but the studio heads didn't like it so they went back & filmed more? sadly i think this will be like the Daniel Craig, Nicole Kidman version of Invasion Of The Body Snatchers. That was finished but studio heads thought it was too "cerebral" and so they added a car chase and stuff. I would of loved to have seen the original film that Oliver Hirschbiegel made instead we got stuff added in by The Wachowski's and the finished product sucked.
I might be completely wrong but i have a bad feeling the same fate awaits World War Z.
On board with everybody's comments so far...
Looks like the only thing that the film has in common with the (brilliant) book is the title!!
I kinda like the idea of a mass of "things" overwhelming mankind, and those dopey shots of a "waves" building up against the wall and tipping cars ....
BUT ... not zombies! And where was any of that in the book?
I'll try to reserve (some) judgement until I see the full trailer, but it looks ludicrous so far ...
Looks BAAAD. But then i thought it probably would be, I mean, Brad Pitt?!?! and as others have mentioned, those CGI Zombie hoards are AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!
The full trailer actually looks alright in a "Will Smith's I Am Legend" sort of way, i'll probably end up seeing it, Brad Pitt doesn't usually sign up for bad movies so i have faith that it'll at least be decent, even if it's nothing like the book. The wave of zombies still looks hilariously crap though.
Trouble is for the budget the film has it will have to be a 12A Certificate. How can you do zombies on a 12A? I will still watch as I enjoyed I am Legend which was a 12A but you just can't do Zombies any justice.

I Am Legend was actually a 15 in the UK, it was PG-13 in the US (as i suspect this will be), but i wouldn't be surprised if WWZ was also 15 rated when it comes out over here, the BBFC tend to be harsher than the MPAA when it comes to films that contain elements of horror.
That'll be an absolute farce if it is a PG-13!
From the new trailer and everything I've seen so far, this is NOT a zombie film and it has absolutely nothing to do with the book.
It's more like an environmental disaster movie. "2012" or "The day after tomorrow" with CGI bodies instead of rushing water or earthquakes. It's beyond "running zombies", these buggers are practically flying, and can do impressions of Lego bricks!!
Jeez! I mean they might as well have done a new concept and story, instead of raising expectations around the book.
It takes a lot to turn me off a film this early in it's promotion, but that's certainly what's happened here!
I'm just going to re-watch "Cockneys Vs Zombies" and both versions of "Dawn of the Dead". Now those ARE zombie films ...

Seriously hope those are rough effects.

All they appear to have done in this is use the same title and main character name.
Still I will probably end up seeing it just for the fact that I live in Glasgow so saw them film a lot of it.
