Who is this presenter on BBC stoke. I may listen to L radio more often if it was like this. http://radiofail.wordpress.com/2013/05/11/drunk-in-charge-of-a-show-fail/

That'll be Paula White.
Like the bit when someone said she sounded drunk, and she said she'd had 'a couple of drinks'. Must've been a couple of very strong drinks.
Only surprised it took them as long as it did to get Den Siegertsz in to take over. 'Paulas not feeling well'!!!
Don't call us, we'll call you.
She sounds like she's having fun though......
Was she leaving or was she let go due to cut backs?

Way to go Paula! We look forward to your new weekend show starting next month.....
She'll be lucky!
And Paula White deserves NEVER to work in radio at any level EVER AGAIN. BBC Radio SOAK:mad:
Saying the Mabaging Editor should hang his head is a bit strong it's not his fault. Unless if course he ws at the pub feeding her booze before her show. I agree that she should hv been taken off air after the first link and where was the producer?
It is perhaps the best thing I've ever heard on bbc local radio tbough. Very funny.
Yeah, remember that......wasn't it a Southampton station??
If anything it added to the experience of anyone listening to the show with the novelty value of hearing a drunk presenter, Pete Price drunk would be interesting.
Why did they have to cover it up rather pathetically by saying she wasn't very well, could they not have just said she was drunk, it was obvious to anyone.
They'd better not be sad enough to hold this against her like a grudge, no one was harmed by being on air drunk. We have a culture where your slightest misdemeanour is held against you for life and people seem glad about it. If she's good at radio generally when not drunk then they should get back to supporting her and looking for the positive side. She wasn't all that bad at radio when she was drunk either.
Can anyone remember what his name was Jim ? And what ever happened to him ?
Sorry to be picky but she didn't go to Heart it was Century. Paula left the station when it became Heart.
I'm with Bill on this one! She was well gone but it was harmless and the whole thing was actually quite entertaining in its own unique way - unlike Danny Baker's self-obsessed, venom filled rant on BBC London at the end of last year (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jKQL-Gi08gY&feature=youtu.be) and he was allowed to stay on air.
I hope Paula will be be OK for her new Saturday show next month. If the management asks the question 'is it likely to happen again' and conclude 'no' and that this was an emotionally charged one off on a highly stressful day for her, I think they may well let it go. I hope so. We're all human!
Seconded to the hilt. Maybe a few more drinks would transform the rather characterless radio we have nowadays....
I was told of one World Service announcer in the early 60s who got to the words "Monsieur Pompidou" - giggled, and then started chanting "Pompy Pompy Pompidou, Pompy Pompy Pompidou" until he was removed by one of his colleagues. And another incident where two very drunk W/S announcers fought live on air (with a tug of war over the script) as to which of them should read the bulletin. Funny part was they both realised they needed to retain a certain decorum so the grunts and blows were "smothered" as best they could....
Much happier days.... (Hic!)
Get over yourself!
She was at Century for five years (although with an extended break a year in before Jim joined)
I disagree she "wasn't all that bad at radio when she was drunk". I've heard Paula ever since she was "Paula in the Plane" on RAM FM's breakfast show and like her but the clip I've heard of Friday has left me a bit uncomfortable (mainly as I know how much drink it would take to get to that point and it doesn't sound as happy as the clips of Scott Mills drunk on R1 early breakfast post-Brits).
I am surprised she was allowed to stay on air for a few links but most of all I'm more concerned for Paula and hope it was because it was her last show.
