Sky+ Special Offer

I'v e had an offer through the post from Sky offering a Sky+ box for £49 and standard set-up for £30. I'm thinking of going for it but would like to know whether or not Sky use new boxes or refurbished ones for these offers. Does anyone know a way of telling?
