    That would be me.

I am listening to Iain Lee on BBC WM now as i have been for about 4 mouths.he is doing a news based show. He is very good at it maybe LBC could ask him back to do a news based show?
I can't listen to all his shows on BBC 3CR during the week, but I do always catch the podcast. What he's doing is more enjoyable to me for two reasons: it's funny and engaging, and it's fair-minded. So...draw your own conclusions ;)

Posts that are not constructive are against the terms and conditions of this forum which was the reason given why a load of posts were deleted yesterday. That includes those which are just a rant and abuse directed towards a particular presenter and offer nothing constructive. No presenter is above criticism but comments are better if they are more than just childish name calling. The moderators will decide if posts that consist of little more than repeatedly calling James O'Brien a champagne socialist are constructive or not.

I don't resort to name calling, neither do I refer to J O'B as a champagne socialist so why are you answering my post? Have you lost the plot?

P>S Why don't you save it for Mike?

..and by and large the moderators ,judging by a general lack of post removal )are quite happy seeing the faux people warrior being taken to task on a very regular basis .

It is always a pleasure having your female insight in these matters :)

I concur but, sadly, your words may fall on deaf ears.

I'm looking forward to eight more nights of Nick Abbot, I felt his pain last night when he was talking about trying to book tickets to see Kate Bush. No way would I want to go and see her, I always thought she was overrated, but I have had experience of the frustration of online booking.

I was going to post this very thought but you beat me to it!!

I was with a friend yesterday morning and she tried for an hour to get tickets for Kate Bush and failed.

The whole process is so stressful these days. Recently my hubby and I sat poised at 9am with both our computers refreshing like mad to get Justin Timberlake tickets for my daughter ... Never felt such pressure :D

Hope Amanda is back tonight. I really enjoy her input and Nick seems more relaxed when she's on. She was at Steve's party last night. Every time I see a picture of her she is always smiling.

I have read as many posts , maybe more of constant ridiculing of Steve Allen. Going on so long about his "lobster" is not what I would call constructive!

I agree with you about Amanda, last night it was as if he was missing his right arm, they bounce off each other and the banter between them is compulsive listening, she insults him and he insults her but you know, deep down, that it's all an act and a damn good one. They have a respect for each other and, if you read between the lines, it shows. ;)

    Positively angelic .:)

Personally would be more than happy having her replacing that old bat Hoskens ,

But it did provide those of us who are easily amused with a few chuckles. :D

It wouldn't be the first time a producer has moved to presenter slot. Haven't both Christo and Anthony Davies done that? ( I may be wrong). Amanda always sounds very at ease on air.

I never liked Iain Lee when he was on LBC as I found him a bit manic and juvenile but age seems to have calmed him down a bit and I enjoy him a lot more these days.

Indeed - the Steve Allan lobster lobster episode was a bit excessive

Unfortunately the poster is prone to being rather selective in her criticism

That covers most of us to a certain degree. I suppose, if you want to nit-pick, you could argue that somebody who refuses to hear anything positive about the EDL or al-qaeda is a bigot.

I don't know why you needed to outline this differentiation g-s. I mean, most of us would be wary of EDL and Al-queda without harbouring prejudice, for the sake of sheer self-survival. Methinks you're being a bit sarky? On that note I can't be ar&ed to refer to English Dictionaries for every definition - too time consuming. ;-)

I gather from Twitter that SA had his birthday do at The Hippodrome, and it was a success.

No mention was made as to whether Lobby went along, dead or alive.

As you attended an Iain Lee, James O'Brien comedic event, can you tell us of your overall appraisal, and were the pair enjoyable?

I certainly found the evening very enjoyable (more than I expected to). The two guys were very relaxed and bounced the questions off each other. There didn't seem to be any pre-set script. I presume you have listened to the podcast.

I agree with you PK, although haven't heard his programmes recently. However after hearing him at the event, my impression of him changed.

I am in Bristol at the moment. Driving along we followed a car from the Steve Allen Driving School!! There must be a funny joke there!

I've never heard Iain Lee since he left LBC many moons ago, so didn't know how he'd progressed.

Ooops, hope that wasn't me? I would be sensitive. In keeping tropical fish and having kept freshwater crustaceans (shrimps) in the past, I might have revealed susceptibility on the keeping of Steve's lobster. Especially when he had the specimen's claws tied up in the boot of his car. :o

I tuned in earlier and they were still talking about the debate so I switched to another radio station :)

Maybe Chris of Crouch End will call into Petrie's show now.

I must be one of the few not keen on Amanda!

He's not taken to task, though. People just say he's arrogant or refer to him as a champagne socialist.

People rarely make any sort of real concrete criticisms of James O'Brien on here. It just amounts to brainless name-calling.

Yes his LBC shows were a little raw - he used to take callers straight to air for instance - but still very juvenile I would agree. In his own words as he used to say sometimes the next day after a show, 'That show was absolute cack, let's try and do better'.

Still it's 2007 since he last he did those type of shows and he's a little more experienced in radio now.

Petrie engaging in the topic of gay marriage, I think already LBC has covered all of this. So like the merry-go-round of topics a veritable hamster wheel, our radio station has more than covered this topic already. : yawn icon three times over :

Iain Lee's shows were very much like how Nick Abbot's shows used to be on Virgin radio
