Yes - I was born the year she was crowned - I've sort of grown up with her. She has the best virtues of her generation , iincluding courage. I;ve never forgotten her driving in an open car to a WW2 festival right after the London bombings. What other public figure would have done that?
She's a great lady and deserves admiration.

When Diana or the Queen Mum died, they played the National Anthem. Would Charles or William take Elizabeth's place straight away or is there a few days in waiting before the taking over.

Any large event will have the National Anthem played

They have to wait for the results of the phone vote.
No. I'm not a royalist and I don't know her, so why would I be upset or care?
Neither am I. I'm American and we don't do royalty.
However, I will be sad. She is a mother, grandmother and aunt as well as head of state. She seems like a very nice woman, has caused no scandal and is hugely respected.
I was upset when Amy Winehouse died. I was sad to see Whitney go even though I was no fan. I'll be sad when the Queen goes.
Not remotely.
I'd probably take amusement from all the sheep who'd make fools of themselves by weeping in public over the death of an over-privileged old woman who wouldn't have spat on them if they were on fire.
However, much as I think the Royal Family are a waste of space, the Queen has been an icon for British culture and the second longest reigning monarch, so far.
When she eventually passes away, I will understand the sentiments and grieving that will happen.
TBH I admire her for the life she has had but I think when her time comes although it will be sad she has lead a long privileged life and now time to go
The Royal family are an extremely well documented media covered rich family. They live in such riches and luxury that they can live until the ripe old age of 91 and show no sign of reaching the end of their life.
Such a rich family who have never wanted for naff all and know next to nothing about anyone even remotely working class, and to top it off we are supposed to worship them. All this, because they just happened to be born into the right family.
The Royal Family means nothing to me. Death is always sad and the lady has done her share of good in her time, and it will be very sad for her family, but she is 80 odd. She's led a very full and successful life. It would be sad, but I wouldn't be heartbroken.

God save the king?

Oh you know its not the results of the phone vote that counts, its what the producers want instead!
But she's had a full and interesting life, and we all have to go.
No tragedy.
Not really:p
..and she doesn't know (or care) about anyone reading this thread.
So,no,I for one wouldn't be bovvered t.b.h.

It's not as if her passing would signify the demise of the monarchy, after all!
