Leonard Nimoy at the start of Star Trek III: The Search for Spock :) Ok it was a flashback and he wasn't seriously dead.

And talking of not being seriously dead:

James Bond in From Russia With Love (a training double and faking his death in You Only Live Twice ("at least he died on the job, he would have wanted it that way"

    Ben Affleck in Smokin' Aces.

Steve Coogan in Tropic Thunder. Granted no the biggest star in the world but still famous.

Thread title is "Famous stars" :p

Let's add to the thread title 'including those who used to be famous but are now just washed-up tabloid fodder'! :p

Samuel L Jackson at start of True Romance...and in the same film Gary Oldman a bit later, but still early on in the film.

Marlon Brando in Superman (Edit: not on screen so I guess it doesn't count)

Yes but most of the roles in true Romance were essentially cameos

Pam Grier in Ghosts of Mars. Another example of a big star getting out of a rubbish film as soon as they decently could.

The thing about Janet Leigh in Psycho is that even though she dies 45 minutes in, she is pretty much on screen that entire 45 minutes. That gives her more screen time than pretty much any other actor in the film.

Paris Hilton - House Of Wax

A slasher horror.... she gets past the half way point and it is always clear she will be the token bimbo character...

In fact, in the promotional campaign she wore a t-shirt saying "Go see Paris Hilton die in House of Wax"

Therefore that is a null and void mention on the thread.

Robert Wagner in Towering Inferno. He was a really big star at the time. After he disappeared into the smoke filled room with a wet towel on his head I waited the rest of the film for him to reappear !
