She is trying to convince herself this is good and she is hoping viewers (including her mum who is probably watching out of pity) will be convinced.

I literally have to mute the tv every time she speaks, and it's not just tonight, she's always like this.

She did seem a bit more OTT than usual tonight. Then again everyone seemed to notice how mortified she looked on Friday night after Helen won so maybe she's just trying to convince people she's still actually happy to present the show.

I turn her down though not off completely. The screeching is genuinely painful to listen to.

I never turn anything down except women screaming while giving birth, screaming babies, massive bomb explosions and Emma.

I'm amazed she got work presenting with such an ugly voice.

Yeah gone right of her completely, she is now the epitome of Trash presenters who try and mislead us .

In answer to the OP's question, I'm quite sure she could, and if you can't tolerate the current levels (which having a heard a lot of real screeching in my time teaching, I'd class as mild) you might be best off not asking the question in case it's mistaken for a request.^_^

She just doesn't have a very strong voice and when she raises the volume, she can't "hold" it so it becomes very warbly and shrill. It drives me mad. I still quite like her for not being Davina whom I found unwatchable. However, I have noticed that Emma is morphing into Davina with her mock extreme excitement, gurning and punching the air. Please, no!

She is getting more and more shrill.

I just presumed their new target audience was dogs and dolphins who will be the only ones who can hear her soon.
