"Blue Mute" Hanspree HT09

My Hanspree HT09 has a setting in the "Settings" menu called "Blue Mute".

I haven't come across this before, so I am puzzled as to what it might be referring to. It doesn't seem to alter the picture, at least not immediately. Neither does it seem to affect the "on/standby" indicator, which shows a blue light when the TV is in use, orange otherwise.

I doubt very much that it has the ability to parse and edit text on the screen, or bleep out "blue" language audibly.

So does anyone know what it is referring to?

It doesn't explain it's function in the manual. I've searched the Internet and cannot find anything that seems relevant, either.

Word from Hanspree is that it is there to disable the "blue screen" if there is no signal to a particular input. But don't fully understand what that means really, so I've turned it off (it was on) to see if there's a difference. Will report later.

All it does is make the screen blue if there's no signal, rather than display snow, or a blank screen.

It won't affect the picture in any way.

Yep - screen is black if no signal is present on the chosen input.
