    Having moved from Buxton, which is a pretty picturesque spa town and you can get free spring water there, to Cambridge, I can't say I regret it. I love Cambridge, even out in the fens. I live on the outskirts so not actually in the centre, but I do visit the centre every few days. The only bad thing is it is so busy with tourists and such, but then, can you really complain about that? It keeps the small shops in business. :)

    I've also lived in Cornwall, near Truro for a little while. I loved Cornwall too, you were never too far from a beach, and some of the most picturesque postcard sea fronts and beaches were exquisite. Again, lots of tourists.

    But my favourite place I've lived out of the three has to be Cambridge. I love it here. Although I would still thoroughly recommend the other two! :kitty:

    Cornwall is 1,300 square miles in size. Can you narrow it down a bit or is 'Cornwall' per se worth a visit?

    For me it'd be:
    Truro - for the cathedral alone
    Penzance - for the beaches & St. Michael's Mount
    Falmouth - for the bay and the legendary docks. The bay is very picturesque, and the docks... I was in awe at the size of the cranes, and how small the shipping containers looked when you looked down on them
    Tintagel - for the castle ruins and the walks around there
    St. Austell - for the Eden Project
    St. Ives - again, for the beaches

    I'd also recommend Derwent Dam, and the reservoir, and the surrounding reservoirs. In fact, most of Derbyshire is very pretty. :)
