Some ex sent me a text once and used the phrase "whoa is me". Naturally I had to correct her and say it's actually "woe is me", cue massive text arguement. Despite being utterly wrong she wouldn't admit it. Silly cow!

I HATE it when people say "here here" mostly because it's quite a pompus saying really so you just look like a dick when you get it wrong!

To me it's bloody obvious that it would be "hear hear" as in "I hear you" not "here here" as in - I'm over here!

The bare with me one doesn't annoy me quite so much!

'Walla' instead of 'voila' should be a criminal offence

I recently had an argument with someone and they accused me of being a hypocrite.

They said "That's the pot boiling the kettle black" :o

I hear so many reporters refer to 'Unchartered territory' that I have started believing it makes sense when talking of going into the unknown. Surely not.

    :D I know right?

After that I let them get on with it, safe in the knowledge that not only am I not really a hypocrite, but that also I could correct them on that anytime if I wanted to :p

Sure they were not talking about railways, then it would be correct.

I suppose it's another one where the wrong usage does make sense............

Another one is 'dull as dishwater'............dishwater is fairly dull !

I only care what my Golden retriever thinks of me, why should I care if you think I'm pompus. :(

I'm going out on a limp here by saying that this thread is a mute point.

If you guys think I'll be walking on tender hooks, you've got another thing coming! I'm gonna wreck havoc.
