Where would you go to find your (car) no claims information if you hadn't been insured privately for a year and a half?

I cannot remember who I was insured with .... I could look through bank accounts etc. but is there another easier way

To prove your number of years no claims you have to provide a letter from your previous insurer, so even if you can find out / work out how many years you have, you'll still have to contact your previous insurer to get the proof.

Not sure, you could try MID, they should have a record of your insurer.
