People talking about her teeth P I S S E S me off tbh. Low blow much? I like her unique look.

Same. I hate it when people make personal digs like that. Like on twitter they're all taking the mick out of her bum like idk that could make her insecure. It probably actually took her a lot of courage to do what she did, as cringy as it was, but no-one will mention that.

Everyone is freaking out and she and her management company are rubbing their hands together

Everything is going as planned , solid sales, tons of hype for her album thats a winning PR campaign

Agree with this. The fact that people are not really talking about Lady Gaga's naked bum just says it all.

Everyone is taking about Miley. Everyone will remember her performance for a long time.

I May be the minority but I thought it was great, crazy, car crash and funny all at the same time. It made me laugh.

Confused as to why that would matter.

Great article on the most-part but I can't completely respect the writer's opinion when they are hypocritically generalising white people. Not every white artist who releases R&B music is like Miley.

for a laugh maybe, but miley the racist? oh please.:o i will agree with the point about white artists copying black culture and black music, but refreshingly, miley would be the first to admit that.

i can see the obvious black influences image wise and even the song itself sounds urban. however, i think personally for me, she manly projected the "trailer park trash" image or what we would call a "chav" and for better or worse, she certainly owned that distinctly white look with her performance.

I read the article and while some of the points are interesting I thought it was funny how they said Rihanna gets critizised for it while Miley "skates by" ... bollix! Everyone is critizising Miley right now!

I resent all the people comparing her to Madonna, Britney or Christina. They all have a sense of artistry to their performances, heavy choreography, especially Madonna and Britney in their prime. They were fantastic dancers. Even Christina's Dirrrty, whilst overly cynical in what it was trying to represent, at least had interesting (if highly sexualized) choreography and a winking, self-aware griminess to it. Christina looked like she hadn't showered in weeks, and that was part of her image at that time.

There was a sense of pushing boundaries but the music and the artistry was still the main point.

Miley was just randomly bouncing around and making porny movements, fake masturbation, thrusting her arse into whatever crotch she had at her disposal. Huge difference. The others were actually sexy too, instead of seeming like skin-and-bone pre-teens who had just looked up some dirty words in the dictionary.

Completely disagree. It was a very trashy performance and the constant tongue pulling is annoying but imo she is having a bit of fun with this image and she knows exactly what she's doing. I think those predicting a big breakdown of her mental health and/or career are being a bit hysterical.

That video "dancing with Molly" is horrendous. And how excellent, modern pop culture endorsing drug taking to impressionable children and young people

I don't think she's ruined her career and people are overreacting about this performance she was trying to act like the video in some ways. And if this was someone else like Rihanna I don't think it'd get half this attention. If anything it's done good to her it's got everyone talking about her.

It was very cringe-worthy and in parts I had to cover my eyes because I felt for her BUT saying that it has done wonders for her career, everyone will be talking about her and hanging on for her next single now, Wrecking Ball, which is actually quite impressive.

She wanted to shed that Disney image for so long and she finally has, we will have to see how she goes from here. If she carries on the way she is I do sense a decline in her sales but if she changes it up next time and goes a little softer she will be great.

i quite like her new music, the vma`s was just embarrassing, but by no means has it ruined her, she`s having the most success she`s probably ever experienced Musicially worldwide, wasn`t WCS not only her first uk #1 but her first ever uk top 10?, as desperate as she looks, it`s just an act to go with her new record and it`s working

jesus fricken christ, some people go out of their way to be offended by the least wee thing

what exactly has she done wrong compred to what riri, xtina, britney, madonna, pink just to name a few have done and still do?

Except they're all late 20s, early 30s...this thing is a child, stop defending her.

This is exactly what she wants though - the attention. It's just cringe and weird. She's just such an odd person.
