For all those into anarchic seventies comedy "The Goodies" gets a welcome and much deserved outing for 8 episodes over Xmas from tomorrow night on BBC 2.

For any fans out there Andrew Pixley has released an excellent book on the show.

    It's dated a bit.

The BBC should put together a highlights package cutting out 70's references and just do the comedy bits.

I think it's how Benny Hill was presented in the USA.

Looks like they're all episodes which were released on DVD a few years back, so nothing new really. I'd have liked to have seen some more random episodes.

Probably still one of the best shows on TV this Christmas though!

There are a couple of episodes that are on next week that haven't been released on DVD as yet, Loch Ness Monster on the 29th and Stone Age on the 30th.

It's says on the EPG 12/14, has this been going for 11 days and I've missed it?

For some reason tonight we got a "change to the advertised programme" and they showed 'Bunfight at the OK Tea Rooms' instead of 'Scoutrageous'. Not sure why.

I thought that at first and I was fuming!! Then I saw that TONIGHTS show is 7/14. So I guess these are the original episode numbers and they are showing them in a random order. Still, any order is better than nothing:D

The OK Tea Rooms was on the EPG yesterday morning.

They didn't show Goodies here last night in Wales. I see it's not on iPlayer. How on earth are we going too see yesterday's episode? They are showing one episode tonight, the Kung Fu episode.

As for the inconsistency in terms of numbering, maybe the following link will help.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00hwht9/episodes/upcoming

They are showing episodes from different series.

I had all the songs too. Remember "The Inbetweenies," and "Black Pudding Bertha," :D
My favourite song was "Father Christmas Do Not Touch Me."

Anyway I do hope that the famous giant white kitten episode is shown.

    Not quite that close:eek:"

Love to see the Safaru park one - hunting the wild Rolf Harris.

Watched last night's episode and giggled as much as I did when I was little and watching the episodes originally! I did wonder if I would enjoy them as much as an adult, as you tend to idealise things from your childhood, but I loved it and can't wait to watch the rest ~ especially Kitten Kong, my all time favourite.

Did you notice that in their office, there was a blackboard on the wall which had "Remember to buy Funky Gibbon" written on it ! :D

What was the plot of Scoutrageous? Would then give a clue as to why they changed it...

There is a brilliant book released about the Goodies. A bit pricey but well worth the money.

I remember it from the first time round. Nothing controversial about it.

Agreed, also think it contained the line
"Come on hold me tightt. NOT quite that tight!!"
