 Maybe the same could be said for certain people on here. But it's still his opinion and people seem to listen to his opinion more than anyone else on here.

I've always seen the Xbox as the "popular console" as a PS as the all round safe choice. You never see the cool kids playing Playstation on these US T.V shows, it's always Xbox.

.... u.s tv shows. Xbox is USA's baby!

So this guy basically eats too much food and plays video games for a living and then gets treated like royalty by games companies. What a great role model for kids!

Hes a really decent bloke who by his own admission has an eating disorder and had a particularly tough life.

Sid Shuman from Sony called out to his house and loaned him an PS4 for a few hours so he could shoot a few videos with it. His unboxing video in his character Francis was released was rivalling the official unboxing from Sony (pretty sure Francis one has more views on youtube :D) Sony then flew him and his wife out to their PS4 event launch in New York on all expenses paid trip. Gave him an engraved PS4 and a load of games.

Major Nelson from xbox then called out to his house gave him an xbox one loads of games and engraved joypads for himself and his wife. Despite all the shite gave Microsoft over the years. Nelson even sat down for a 15 minute interview in which Boogie was pretty honest in what he thought of them. Major Nelson seems like a decent bloke and they shot this video which i think is hilarious.

LOL I felt the Major was begging it

That'll be product placement for you. You'll rarely see a brand on USTV that hasn't paid to be there.

Ooooh buuuurn! Who are these "certain people"? :D

Your views on popularity are based on a single country, which in turn is like what Nintendo is to Japan, hardly surprising. In Europe it's the other way around and it looks like Sony will be filling the mainstream void once again as with PS1/PS2, that's always been there goal with the PS4.

To touch on a few points made on brand loyalty, out of all the company fanbase's who adhere to this behaviour it's Sony's, partly helped by their own marketing strategy's to generate fanboyism (the birth of "Playstation Nation", all the nostalgia based adverts, Kevin Butler etc).

These were the ones who held off buying the vastly superior Sega Dreamcast for the dull and overpriced PS2, it was only because the 360 got so much right that it became as popular as it did in certain territories. We've seen how quickly that's changed when there's a few bumps in the road.

We have both PS2 and Dreamcast and nothing wrong with either.

PS2 has a better controller, a LOT better, graphics DC was good, the Sonic game looked really good, PS2 COULD be good.

Games, some of the DC ones were excellent as were the PS2 ones, there was also some terrible shovelware on the PS2.

    DC was a missed opportunity.

Pointless comparing their library now since the PS2 was not only the most popular console ever made but also thrived commercially for countless years beyond DC. What could of become of Dreamcast we'll never know, but at the launch of the consoles the DC had a ridiculously better games library as well as superior graphics and overall features (even online capabilities). A huge amount of the PS1 fanbase fell for Sony's aggressive marketing on the run-up to release and decided to wait for the PS2, which is fair enough but the console had a terrible launch line up and quite simply didn't deserve the market share it received. This was the most extreme example of brand loyalty we've probably ever seen in gaming.

As for the video, the fact is Boogie also has a strong following on NeoGAF too and I while don't have a problem with his personal opinion, despite not agreeing with it, I also don't think he's being dishonest or is a closet Xbox fan either.

That video was undeniably biased and non-objective. The fact he claims it serves as his guide to buying a next-gen system makes it all the more worse. His points on indie games were baffling and there were so many omissions of X1's current and upcoming exclusive library (which has probably the most exciting line-up from any Xbox ever), the dedicated servers for all games, the difference in controllers etc. All of it ignored, it might of been honest but it simply wasn't a balanced overview of both systems.

Not at all, but he could at least mention the differences between them, it's applicable since the X1 controller is designed to appeal to those that loved the 360. The DS4 is a radical departure. Pretty much everything he said was personal opinion.

Wasn't that the whole point of the video, his personal opinion on the consoles.

Not sure what you were expecting

Thought his view was just that his view, if you want an out and out games machine with multi media on the side go PS4 if your want a "Entertainment System which also has very good games go Xbox. He even said his wife prefers the Xbox for its multi media abilities.

In Europe alot of the Xbox's features aren't going to be usable for a while if ever, so I can't justify paying for features I may never get.

£80 extra for a media centre with the missing "media" features and no confirmation as to when they will become active or usable in the UK.

One reason why i'm leaving XB1 alone completely.

Can we all stop pretending that covering videogames is some sort of important journalism which requires endless balance please? ALL OF IT is just offering opinions on entertainment media, like film or tv reviewers.

His alter-ago (Francis) got him his "internet fame". The fact he's overweight has nothing to do with it

People watch his Francis videos for a laugh, when he's bashing Xbox, Playstation and Nintendo. Due to this he gets big numbers on his channel, he has found a "voice", (as Boogie2988, NOT Francis) and he can say how he feels and give his opinion on games and consoles. Sony and Microsoft have seen how his videos are appealing and took a chance to sell more of their consoles. He's not "royalty", he's a just a popular guy on YouTube who's channel is been used as another advertising outlet by two console gaming giants.

When it comes to some people on here there are no opinions only the following few rules

    Rule 1

If you like playstation more, you are wrong, sony are evil no matter how much something they do is praised we most find error in it, or constantly state its over rated and compare it something xbox have done

    Rule 2

Xbox is the best, any attempt to show this may not be the truth, whether fact and fiction automatically makes you a sony fanboy/zealot and your opinion is not to be trusted

    Rule 3
For some reason nintendo are OK and it doesn't matter what you think of them

Flying someone out all expenses paid to two console launches is pretty much treating them like royalty in my opinion.

Not at all, it's treating him like just about every other prominent gaming writer/blogger in the industry, all of who, in the case of the ps4 review event, were flown out to NYC, provided accommodation, and given a ps4 + games at Sony's expense.

Now you're just being ridiculous, could say the exact same thing about you and countless others whenever there is defense of the Xbox on these forums. You're never moaning or applying these rules to the countless Sony fanboys that are around here, you're too busy pointing the finger at Xbox fans instead.

I thought this fighting would stop (for a while) when people got their xbones?

Also quite sad (and eye opening) to see Boogie getting shit just for stating his opinion. If there's anyone on youtube that speaks the truth, its that guy. Very disappointing to see people think he's just being biased due to the company name on the machine.

It's clear to me now that some people are just really, REALLY butthurt over this stupid console war.
