Sky Optical lip sync

Has anyone noticed the lip sync go to pieces again over the past few days?
Turned on yesterday and noticed it was miles out, and tonight Strictly was unwatchable without dialling in much more audio delay.
i wonder if this is only affecting people like me using Optical out? I don't know but whereas Sky is pretty reliable now and failed recordings and other glitches are rare, it seems to me they've never really properly sorted the sound out. Even today we have HD channels with ridiculous volume boost (or cut) and still we have these sorts of lip sync issues. I wonder how much they test new software releases.
