BIB - I hear this from quite a few people. However the amount of money you would save by switching to an android device (as they tend to be cheaper), could be used to purchase the apps you had on iOS. So you could end up in the same position (apps wise), and it potentially wouldnt have cost you anything.
All the music can be ported over from iOS to android. I was able to get 90% of the same apps on Android and it didn't cost that much to buy them on Android. The only things I couldn't move over was my purchased TV shows due to the DRM. I've still got my apple TV and have an ipad so can still access all my videos. I've probably invested too much in both ecosystems to leave either now lol
