Hopefully she's had some funniness injected in to her.

    I have to agree....

Take one geeky and awkward woman, add a slapstick script, and mix....

Only thing that's worse is Citizen Khan. Totally unfunny and a very obvious an attempt by the BBC at being PC.

(Only my opinion on both counts though).

    Totally agree.

For me - a funny looking woman doesn't necessarily mean 'funny'. She's just a tremendous bore!

When I saw this thread at the top of the page I assumed she'd finally come out like Tom Daley.

I think she's great. Funny, intelligent and 'unconventionally' (whatever that means!) attractive. :p

Lol. I can't see that ever happening. Although I said that about Daley.

i love her! so funny, mostly because she has my humour and in her tv show the scenarios are so me. my other half also finds it funny & says she is just like me (but I am very short).

Most female comedians still aren't very funny (IMO!!)

Then again, these public schoolboys trying to be anti that have come through in recent years, i.e. the Jack Whitehall types, are not remotely amusing either.

I can't understand her appeal. I've tried watching her show which is mediocre and the longer you watch the more irritating she becomes. Her voice is enough to make me want to switch over now and that midwife programme is only bearable if she doesn't appear.

Why are the BBC so infatuated with this woman?
I personally think its because she is no great beauty. It seems to be an unwritten law of comedy that an attractive woman cannot be funny.

I remember when I was a kid most comedians seemed to be working class, middle aged Northerners.

Why has comedy suddenly become so twee and middle class? Jack Whitehall for example is about as funny as AIDS.

Sometimes I like her. Sometimes I find her irritating. On balance, I think she's okay and much more entertaining than some of the more recent breed of 'comedians' who are breaking a limb to come across as edgy.
