They approach it from the position the judging panel was in last series, the results.

Which ONE judge would you sack?
Nicole - 29%
Louis - 27%
Sharon - 16%
Gary - 12%
None of them - 13%
Don't Know - 3%

Which ONE former judge would you most like to see return?
Simon - 46%
Cheryl - 23%
Dannii - 11%
Tulisa - 9%
Kelly - 5%
None of them - 3%
Don't know - 3%

Interesting, I think this will be the most representative poll we will see considering the nature of the pollster.

Interesting poll, but like all polls its which way you put the questions.

The first one could have been :- Which ONE judge would you NOT sack?
The answer could have put Nicole on top with 70%

The second one could be :- Which ONE former judge would you NOT like to see return?
The answer to it put that way could be Cheryl - 75%

The moral is ignore polls as they mean nothing.

Regarding the first question: That would simply mean that Nicole was the best of a poor judging panel? Doesn't mean she is good enough to keep. Especially since Simon is coming back and their chemistry on XF USA wasn't great. She was really annoying last year and her act got tiresome.

It makes sense for Simon to bring back Cheryl and Louis. Let's just hope they find a good 4th judge.

The first question asks for what can be presumed is the least favourite. However, if you were to ask the other suggested question, it'd be indicative of favourite. Somebody similar to Nicole is going to split opinion, being quite 'different' to the other judges.

So, I agree that you can't really get a definitive answer of favourites from that particular poll question. :)

That approach is only sensible if each choice is evaluated independently (Do you want to see Simon back? Cheryl back?). Here, they have to choose one from the list (Who do you want to see back? Simon, Cheryl,...). Your conclusion does not come directly from what the poll results show. You cannot conclude that 75% don't want Cheryl back; they just prefer someone else and probably won't mind.

Do you actually read posts before responding, I do not have a conclusion regarding Cheryl or Nichole.
The word could be Cheryl - 75% does not mean would be Cheryl - 75%

It was just an illustration on how the wording of a question could give completely different results.

And at the bottom is The moral is ignore polls as they mean nothing.

Its always been clear Cheryl is still popular, but this forum acts like the whole country hates her and ratings are going to fall drastically because she is coming back, which I really don't think will be the case at all.

She had her own successful arena tour a year ago and a highly successful autobiography not that long ago either, so she most definitely isn't over as some people have been claiming too.

Either way can't Cowell take a hint that LOUIS NEEDS TO GO.

I swear he consistently ranks least liked in these polls every year.

As for Cheryl being favoured over Nicole...that can be explained simply by GBs generally flawed taste. :p
