many places are doing this. After February retailers will still be able to overide the pin by pressing a button on their machine and doing the old signature thing but then the credit card company will no longer guarantee the retailer will be paid if the card is stolen or the customers refuses the payment.
All I can say is I hope the bankls get themselves sorted out , many cards do not work properly and banks have admitted it has been rushed through .

I don't know about anywhere else but after Valentine's Day where I work; if we use the PIN Overide facility the bank will just decline the transaction. Some banks have been doing this already on some cards.

I haven't found this at all. As long as everybody takes the time to remember their PIN and aren't careless with it it's an excellent system that has been well implemented in my opinion.

They do have a keypad, it's under a flap. I have to use it to enter my mileage when using a company fuel card.
