So, after last week's appetisers, the 14 first-round matches begin tonight. So far, we're only told that perennial challengers the University of Manchester will meet Selwyn College, Cambridge, with Oxford Brookes playing Jesus College, Oxford next Monday.

Have a feeling they may still be back as a highest scoring loser though.
Rang a bell with me too.
Hope they don't make it as highest scoring losers!
Very impressed with Pugh-Ginn, the captain of Selwyn.
Beethoven's Sixth being played and none of the team having
a clue what it was.
And Paxo's response, along the lines of 'One of the most famous
classical pieces EVER!!!!!' Love it!
Quite a reasonable response, IMO. It is.
I'm a graduate of Manchester (we were banned from UC when I was there thanks to the notorious Trotsky/Che Guevara incident) and I was spitting feathers at them. Cocky is only the beginning of it. Getting caught on a hot mike saying "Huh, that was easy" did not endear them to Paxo or to me. Compared with previous Manchester teams they are shadows.
(I surprised myself by getting La Traviata )
Clearly not. Who was that?
I remember the Art Captain with her 3 simultaneous hairstyles, and the Hipster on Bristol's team who looked like he'd arrived on his fixie bike from his East London flat.
I didn't understand the blue steel reference. Can someone explain it to me, please?
Gregoire was one of the worst contestants I`ve ever seen on there. So bad I wondered if she was a saboteur from the other team! She seemed to find it hilarious that she got everything wrong.
Blue Steel was the signature pose of male model Derek Zoolander played by Ben Stiller in the comedy film Zoolander.
