They ran into the 90s with their hits, including this wonderful dreamy song and video, which I've just had a wonderful time watching and listening to for the first time in 20 years.

I saw them play the Glasgow Apollo round about 1980. It was a memorable gig as the synths were so loud and powerful that they reverberated through my whole body. It was freaky and awesome.
I saw them at UEA in 1979(?) when the only song I recognised was 'Electricity'. I saw the Human League around the same time and I thought they were better.
Just remembered this great track, which was their first big(gish) hit. I love the Indian/oriental feel to that creepy little riff of music between the verses!
Think by their own admission they very nearly buggered up their career after the excellent Architecture & Morality album (the CD with the bonus tracks is well worth a listen). Remember bringing the next album Dazzle Ships home...and just staring at the speakers in bemusement.
Then they tried for the American market and had their biggest hit in the US with 'If You Leave' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPmTGFg06zA which still sounds quite fresh. Radio 1 didn't play it, so it bombed here sad to say.

Genetic Engineering has the feel of being rather experimental, to say the least-and I couldn't make head nor tail of the video!

I always think of them as 80s though because that's when they were most popular.
I did like some of their songs, but haven't listened to them in ages.
A great classic that was.
A few more of their great songs.
