  Im going with Stan raped shirl, this is why she hates him so, the mother found out and left, mick is shirls son.

  Shirl got knocked up, stan forced her to hand the kid to him, the mother was'nt having any of it raising shirls kid so left, mick is shirls son.

  Stan is not Mick's dad.

  Shirley said that she had to go & say sorry to her baby boy, I thought she meant dean, as phil did, but he then realised what she really meant.
  
  I hope this storyline dosen't culminate with Mick running away & nearly having a life of prostitution like Zoe did.
