Any hope on Damon/Greengrass returning to Bourne?

The last Bourne film was well below par in comparison to how Damon left it.

If he will only do it with Greengrass we need the people who make decisions to make the right ones and get these back in board.
It would be epic.

Discuss.

Looks like they're both returning. Rumours coming out now suggest proper-Bourne will take Bournless-Bourne's 2016 slot, with Bournless-Bourne being pushed back, but still going ahead.

Mixed feelings. Love the trilogy, but it was perfect, it wrapped everything up. I don't want them to make it just for the sake of it.

We Bought A Zoo bombed terribly, Damon needs solid B.O success again, he was reduced to doing HBO exclusive movies, he wants that big bucks bankability back.

We Brought a Zoo, cost $50m, made $120m. Turned a profit on production costs, probably lost a bit on marketing money, but I'd imagine Fox recovered that from home video.

That's a little misleading, Behind the Candelabra was deemed "too gay" by the studios, so the only people willing to make it were HBO. It got a theatrical release in several territories outside the US, including here in the UK...

It also won 3 Emmys, 8 Creative Arts Emmys and two Golden Globes. I doubt it hurt his career...

Needs approx 3 times it`s total spend back before it sees a dime in profit accordng to the byzantine world of movie-accounting.

Elysium did pretty well at the box office and confirms his credentials as an action actor. I think he is a versatile actor and can't wait to see him back as Jason Bourne, I hated Legacy - it was such a bland movie.

Double for production costs, triple for marketing...

The rough rule of thumb is three times total spend. Impossible to get accurate figures (if such a thing ever truly exists). I used to work in the business and this was the commonly accepted ratio.
