The Queen is branded a benefits scrounger and Prince Philip a racist in a new BBC comedy tonight.
The Revolution Will Be Televised says the monarch should pay the Bedroom Tax because Buckingham Palace has “700 spare rooms
The jibes risk plunging the BBC into a new row with Tory MPs, who have already blasted the Corporation’s coverage of welfare cuts

There is an element of truth to this.
The royal family are just layabouts who have not contributed to this country financially even during the recession years.
Whilst we cut benefits for the poor and force them into food banks, we provide fine food to Royals:rolleyes:
What do you think? At least try and post without screwing up your links.
She doesn't go to the job centre to claim but she is living off the taxpayer.
Who is her employer then and who pays her wages
But everyone knows she does not own Buck house so the ' sketch' is pointless and shows just how thick some people are
Thats why The Crown estates have to give more than half it's yearly profits to the government so saying they do not contribute is false
its sicking how many room is in it,
There are actually 775!
I'm pretty sure the size of the building itself isn't what the comedians are complaining about...
Dafuq?
Her Majesty? Are you a royalist? I just call her the Queen.
The edgy 'new' comedy series (actually second series, so not really new) claims the Queen should pay bedroom tax on Buck Palace (even though she doesn't own it) and Prince Phillip is a racist (which everyone knows anyway).
Is your thread intended to mock the epic fail of the content of the show or are you particularly gullible/stupid/naive and think the creators of the show (Heydon Prowse & Jolyon Rubinstein) are actually onto something 'revolutionary' here?
She's self-employed.
Isn't that the whole point the fact she doesn't own it and is more a tenant of a state owned house
The Crown Estates aren't the Windsors, as is pointed out in every damn thread about the royals. They are not contributing or sacrificing Crown Estate revenue - and if they tried to claim it as their own, they'd have to take on the much larger funding of the state.
But she's not a benefit claimant so won't pay bedroom tax
I guess they're saying the money the royals get from the taxpayer is effectively a benefit payment.... Doesn't really add up though as its not as though ER spends her day filling out job applications and watching daytime TV
