LIAM, LAUREN FOR NEW PLOT
Liam Butcher and Lauren Branning are set to get a new plotline over Christmas, new producer Josh Clark has confirmed.
Kicking off around Christmas, the plot will see the two characters develop an "unlikely friendship" after Liam saves Lauren from a mugger. Clark said "Jacqueline Jossa and James Forde have a great friendship off screen, and it is wonderful to transfer that to the show. Liam and Lauren will develop a rather close friendship after he saves her from the mugger, but the storyline will have huge effects for them both."
In additional news, Jamie Lomas and Charlie Brooks have left their roles as Jake Stone and Janine Butcher respectively. Lomas would not reveal his reason for departing the serial, but stated that his time on the show had been "fantastic" and that he would return one day if asked. Brooks stated that she felt that the time had come to hang up Janine's stilettos, and that Janine's exit would be "unmissable."
