Still keep getting Conduit couldn't start message after Conduit has been kicked off

Some months ago, something called Conduit got installed on this laptop. I think its one of the many search engines which tries to be your default and was one of those which you have to ask NOT to be installed when installing something else. Well, I didn’t want it and after a lot of hassle managed to get rid of it, except for a little message on starting up saying that Conduit couldn’t start because something or other was missing. This is pissing me off (as I didn’t want bloody Conduit in the first place) so anyone with any ideas as to how I can make sure that message never shows again?

You can try the following to remove the left overs, download and run the following

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/junkware-removal-tool/

Can also try http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/combofix/ if anything is still left.

Look at step 2 here and no harm completing steps 1-4 even if you have done something similar already. Run MSCONFIG or startup programs in Ccleaner if you have it, look for conduit or any other programs you don't recognise and disable them from starting.

I found Conduit on my PC last night and ran several cleaners most do nothing some just install more junk.

Then I found AdwCleaner as mentioned, it found stuff I didn't know I had or thought had been removed.

You do have to be a little careful as it removes stuff you may want.

I can't believe how much smoother my browser is running now.

However I still haven't found an easy way to remove IObit leftovers from the registry.

I have just used AdsCleaner (I had previously uninstalled Conduit with CleanMyPC) and I'm certain everything has been removed. The problem is that some setting or other is looking for it and not finding it gives me the error message. I have made a screenshot of the message I get but know of no way I can show it to you guys. BTW AdwCleaner did remove quite a bit of other stuff, so who knows what shite ends up on our machines these days.

What about running in safe mode which should stop most things from running and then you could try launching them one by one to see if any ask for conduit.

I also found it again on my second Win7 OS, luckily nothing asks for it.

You link BTW only take you to the upload page.

Thanks for that. After completely removing Conduit and running AdwCleaner to get rid of whatever other shite might still be knocking around, I still get this message (see this screenshot)

Check to see if it is in your startup folder.
Try installing Ccleaner this might remove it when run the registry cleanup option.
If not you need to open regedit and search for anything related to conduit to delete them one by one. ( do a reg backup first though in case you delete something you shouldn't)
