Which RPG to buy?

Hi everyone,

I like RPG games like Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion and Skyrim But because Elders Scrolls Online isn't out until next year, I would like a similar game to play.

I have been looking at other games such as Ryse and Shadow of Mordor, both of which look good. But which would you go for and why?

Thanks in advance.

I thought Elder scrolls online was already out?
What console are you on id it's 360 or ps3 i highly recommend Dragons Dogma.
You could try Final fantasy x/x-2 too.

IF we are talking recent releases then 'Risen 3' is very good or 'Divinity: Orignal Sin' is excellent if you want a more old school experience.

We kinda need to know the platform you intend to play on. Although Ryse is on Xbox so I assume you're on the one

But Shadow of Mordor looks good, is new, and is getting decent reviews everywhere.

I will be mainly getting games for Xbox One and PS4. I don't play PC games that much.

Any game suggestions would be great.

    Thanks in advance.

Ryse isn't an RPG, for a start.

It is better than the critical bashing it received upon release, but it's quite short and quite repetitive.

Shadow of Mordor, on the other hand, has had received widespread critical acclaim.

Dark Souls II was an exceptional game for me.

I would also strongly recommend Dragons Dogma.

Both games offer a challenge and have a brilliant atmosphere that can't really be explained.

If you have an old console how about Fallout 3 or NV

There isn't all that much out ATM, I was recently looking for some decent rpg's and nothing much got my attention.

I know its a different type of RPG, but I ended up grabbing the two Tales of Xillia games and have been pleasently surprised by them. Its not PS4 or Xbox One though.

Dragon Age Inquisition is the one I am waiting for, but you really need to have played the first two to get the most out of it.

I loved DA2, but never played the first one.

    Wild Arms
    Grandia
Rainbow Moon (all PS3/PS Vita) are cracking RPG's. not much to look at but excellent to play and all cheap as hell.

Fallout 3 and nv are in the same vein as the elder scroll games.
