Why not include all of the other, dour, stultifying defensive performances?
For example, the 8-2 and 6-1 wins against Arsenal. 7-1 vs. Roma. 4-3 and 5-1 against City. 3-3 against Barcelona and Liverpool. 5-3 and 6-2 against Spurs. Heck, he kept it up right to the end, with that mind-numbingly dull 5-5 draw with West Brom, in his last game.
Don't forget the most boring non-attacking game ever, the 9-0 v Ipswich!
Or the 8-1 v Forest, gee those were back to the wall jobs right there!
Didn't we win the league last season by pretty much coming from behind most of the time as well? We basically just out scored the other teams, highly defensive.
Whilst Man Utd are not a defensive team, I don't know if the poster was maybe referring to their style of play where they soak up pressure and break on a counter attack.
I still think it's a bit of a silly thing to say. They're clearly not a defensive team. They don't go 1-0 up and shut up shop. They go out to look for a second, third and kill the game off.
It does depend on the game. You'll park the bus against teams that are better than you, isn't it ?
The fact that United hired Moyes says it all really.
Don't get me wrong though, defensive, physical and counter attack football does get you results, especially when you have expensive players like Rooney and Van Persie.

I can't ever recall United 'parking the bus'.
If we were ever going to do that, it would have been in the Champions League final, in 2011.
Instead, we had a go, scored a cracking goal, and then got taught a lesson.
United have been cautious, at times, but never overly defensive.
I think he was mistaking us with Chelsea with the parking the bus comment
Ferguson and Mourinho are exactly the same in their approach. They both come from the same school of thought. Mourinho is sort of trying to change but he's struggling.

I'm sure Mourinho's Chelsea (2004) team scored goals as well.
No, they don't.
They don't mind winning with style, either.
Horses for courses. Depends on the game.

Yes its gone walkies.

Ahh that is a shame, as I always look forward to reading them.
Do you mind if I join in with that?
Unbeleivable really.

Exactlly, we have never parked the bus.
We don't do that.
You're wrong.
I can't believe you don't know your own team.

Really I know my own team, thanks very much.
When have we parked the double decker then, do tell.
e.g. vs Real Madrid last year.
I'm not a troll.
There's no need for that obvious attempt at baiting.
although i do understand where your coming from with iniesta
city and arsenal do play better footy than utd nowadays, but utd has storied history that i think would appeal to iniesta.
dont think he will leave barca fullstop though.
We went defensive after we were down to 10 men, as any team would.
Until then, United had created more chances than Madrid, over the two legs.
Hardly bus parking.
I would think this applies to ALL teams as winning is ultimately what it's all about.
Do us a favour and go away, and stop infiltrating this thread with your nonsense.
We are bored with it now.
