I think if it was people that died in a block of flats due to arson then there would be a lot of outrage just the same, I'm with you that there wouldn't be donations for getting their flats rebuilt for the survivors but I'm sure there would be campaigns to have people donate clothes and stuff. These dogs that have survived are now virtually homeless and don't have local councils to help rehouse them and look after them so they need all the help they can get.
and probably most of them are in the home in the first place because they have been mistreated by humans.:(
When I see people talking about animals as if they were human. When they refer to dogs as members of their family, or when they congratulate their child for risking their life to save a dog.
I think if you take it to an extreme you will get some people who would choose a dog over a baby. I wonder if there is anyone on DS like this.
If there is anyone like that, then they probably don't have the courage to admit they would save a dog over a baby. at least they know its wrong.

I imagine if it were a direct choice infront of their own eyes, almost all will choose the baby to survive. You'd be a bit odd not too.
You would seriously leave a human baby, somebody's child, to burn to save your dog? A baby that could have over 80 years of life in front of him/her? and your dog a handful at most?

Easy, I would save the dog because you can always make a new baby. Dogs cost money.

In this case though, the act of arson would receive a far harsher punishment in law, than the killing of the dogs.
