It was basically the last thing done at the old BBC centre, everyone else had already shipped out, so yes, they redressed it to be more in keeping with how it looked back at the time the show was first being made.
That was a good idea, I hope they did a good job of this film.

Apart from the area around the statue of Ariel - in the sixties it was grassed over and now it is glassed over - looks a bit like the Carousel from Logan's run now - you could see through it down to the bookings offices undernesth in the basement - at least it was bookings in my day (Nineties).
I don't think that is the guest assistant BTW but difficult to see.
Just noticed on iPlayer that this is listed as not available. Other programes around the time are listed as coming soon. Slightly disappointed if this is not available on iPlayer as its the only way I will be able to watch it soon as I'm busy thursday. Dvd it is then

Paul Chapman is talking about Dalek Invasion Of Earth. He's specifically talking about the day that the sequence on Westminster Bridge was filmed. His dad was the designer for DIOE and revamped the Daleks.
My apologies to Paul.
I bought the DVD of DIOE a few years ago. Of the extra features, the 'then and now' feature on film locations was the most interesting.
I'm so looking forward to this. Slight problem in that it's my daughter's school parents evening, but I'm hoping to get there early and see all her teachers as quickly as possible so I can be home again by 9... I don't want there to be any delays!
Very excited to watch this one tonight. I watched the original when it aired in 1963 with no idea what it was going to be about apart from that it was some sort of science fiction. It made an immediate impression at the time and to me William Hartnell's doctor is the one that I think of as The Doctor, although I have liked many of the others.
I am really looking forward to Peter Capaldi as the new Doctor and the sort of edge he can add to the role.

Anyone else?
Yep I am
I know Lime Grove was the main home of the show in the early years.
Is TVC being TVC or is it being Lime Grove as well?
According to the BBC2 listings on BBC iPlayer website, it's coming soon...
The studio sets were shot in Merton at Wimbledon Studios (former home of The Bill).

'See' y'all here after 10.30!
Bit like comparing apples and oranges, tbh.
And actually I'd describe this as being intimate rather than epic.

The Waking Ally? Yes, I suppose that was epic ...
It's got the Slyther in it!
Shortcrust ... that is bang on the nose. I haven't been this excited by new Who since the Eccleston/Tennant regeneration!
