Bees are fascinating creatures.
Bees seem to be getting quite a lot of coverage recently. There was a short film on The One Show last week about communication between bees and flowers, a month or so ago Countryfile also did something on bees.
Bee are blooming amazing!
The previous series was called 'The Wonder of Bees with Martha Kearney'.
The amount a bee travels in their lifetime is outstanding.
Felt so sorry for the male bee after sex
Would love if we could have more programmes like this. I learnt so much. Well done BBC.
Lucky you. I would love to get that close to them.
What i found amazing was the concept that they could alter the workload of the colony to suit, and turn nursemaid bees into food collection bees should the inflow of nectar and pollen reduce.
I agree that this should have been advertised more and on BBC 1. I think I found it by scanning through my tv schedule.
I am shocked at the amount of people who not not know how precious bees are to us.
I am sure I have seen several promotions of it and I think Martha Kearney appeared on The One Show talking about it, would not be surprised if she had also been also been on the breakfast programme.
They can't win, if they run plenty of trailers then people will complain and if not then people will complain that they did not know a programme was on. I managed to find it in the listings OK, there is plenty of listing available online and in EPGs so there is no excuse for missing a programme (though we all manage to do it).
