Well so far Gok has made a couple of okay ideas look good on Zoe but he is making her look hookerisque than classic. I'm hoping the next half hour redeems him.

An aside, he is either putting on weight or he is pumping his face with way too much filler/botox etc... he is starting to look like a football head.

Leopard print blouse and 'leather' skirt slit up the thigh - ugh!
and those shoes were SO high. Did Zoe actually walk in those at all?

What seemed odd to me was how Gok slated her dress sense considering in previous TV series, Gok would encourage women to put together certain "looks" by buying clothes on the high street, such as a 'soldier' look or a 'sailor' look etc etc. And yet he seems quite prepared to slate the woman last night for dressing up in specific looks? And I felt the whole bedroom thing was uncalled for too. It's her bedroom, leave her alone.

And what was with his overuse of the term 'flirting'.. as if he considers any interaction in a social environment to be flirting? The whole 'figure of eight' tip. It was just weird.

All she needed was a bit of self confidence and an opportunity to meet a man with similar interests to herself and someone who liked her for who she was.

She was obviously having as much trouble as I had on New Year's Eve. ( a mistake to attempt to wear some after a year of Uggs and pumps:D) You could see the awkwardness on her walk as she teetered along, poor soul.
I'm not as averse to Gok as some but his obsession with pussy-cat bows around the neck worries me. They remind me of those hilarious 70s Euro-porn films where the girls wore little else.
Her main problems were that she was self-absorbed (or nervous),talked at the same time as eating and probably needed to grow up. ( although the latter is never an essential)

He jumped the shark ages ago but IIRC he did used to know about clothes and how to flatter a person's figure with the right clobber. Remember those early shows where he was always feeling up some fat bird? Cut through the campery and he sounded like he knew what he was talking about.

I thought the makeovers in the first episode were quite decent, but the second one (kickboxing Ruth) he used too many clashing colours/accessories.

Did I hear right? Gok advising this poor woman to buy groups of men a round of drinks? Yes Gok, like that really works in the real world. Another hour of "tips" from Planet Gok. What trash this show is. It's car crash dating tips from someone who I question is really that good at what he preaches.

At times I wonder who needs the most help, the woman or Gok.

I found that a little odd too. Lets be honest, what works (dating wise) in the gay community is not always transferable to the straight. I don't think I'm wrong in saying that (no matter how far we think we've come) when a strange woman buys a round of drinks for a guy, most men will interpret this as a little desperate and forward. So, either she'll be the one they nudge and wink about with their mates, or the one they'll take home for a one night stand and little else. No matter how people like it to be, most men want to "think" they are doing the chasing and not so much the other way around.

Agreed that's exactly what I thought too. It was just bizarre. Perhaps they were all actors and it was just a confidence boosting exercise. Maybe he rents out the bar for a day, fills it with paid actors and does each episode on the same day. We can hope that's what it was.

I still can't believe this show has been given air time let alone 60 minutes of it per episode.

I thought the same thing. Makes you look rather too eager. Of course that guy was interested, made her come across like a sure thing.

Didnt particularly like the outfits he gave her either. I've only seen this one episode but dont fancy seeing any more.

I'm not the wilting violet type by any means, but even I was appalled by the 'buy the man you've never spoken to or seen before a drink' thing. I couldn't be behind putting that 'tip' on air without spending the rest of my life wondering whenever some girl was reported to have turned up dead in a ditch whether she'd followed the advice. It doesn't even say 'I'm special' or 'I'm worth it', it says 'I'm desperate' and 'I'm gagging for it'. And the more decent the bloke, the more likely I think it is that he'd run a mile, so you'd be bound to end up pulling a higher proportion of psychos and weirdos. Madness.

Like someone else on the thread, I've got more time for Gok than most - I used to think he put clothes together quite well, and it was rare to see someone look worse after he'd finished styling them. He seems to have lost the plot this series though, with his finished outfits being either no great shakes or just plain awful. I thought the one with the cream jacket with wide gold bands on it was particularly disastrous. You just noticed the jacket, and the woman wearing it barely registered at all. She looked like she'd just come off second best after getting into a fight with a gang of giant cake frills.

And yes, I'd noticed how much bigger his face is these days too.

Didn't like the way he styled that woman last night - the yellow skirt in particular was dreadful!

Yeah, the odd thing was that she looked quite pretty without make up, but it seems that Gok had set the make up gun to tranny when he did his make over on her.

He makes the women look slutty and heavily made up to achieve a 'date'. Not good Gok!

...sometimes I think good old Gokky has got no idea.. Tonight - he made that lovely natural looking woman (Naseem) into something he likes but spoiled her true beauty and personality..
.All she had to do was walk into any bar at any time in her old jumper and jeans and the drinks would have been coming in thick and fast...
She didn't need all that glam that Gok supplies,,,,

Didn't think the 2nd outfit did anything for lovely Naseem's gorgeous figure! The skirt made her look like she had massive hips which she doesn't, she's barely anything on her! :) She seemed to be such a nice person, hope she keeps the confidence up!
