The man laid a lot of the groundwork in making Spain the force they are today, culminating in him leading them to European glory in 2008.

Rumoured to be a controversial character (ie the Henry comments) but still one of the greats of the game. RIP.

    Sad news - will be fondly remembered in Spain as the man who started the success of the national side.

    He never actually used that word though.

    In a court of law he could claim sarcasm as a defence, it worked for John Terry after all.
