Lovren is slower than a week in jail on the turn.

    Should have been 2-1 there.

Pleased for Markovic to get off the mark with a good finish. Maybe just a hint of offside about it, but nothing compared with Mata's at the weekend.

Still defending like diddy's, Bouremouth should have had one back there.

Coutinho is such a baller. Technically head and shoulders above the rest.

We'll probably do well in these shitty cups

I'll take this at the moment.Still looking like mistakes waiting to happen in defence but we're two goals ahead. No matter that Bournemouth are in a lower division, they are a team in great form and I'd feared this game might continue our poor results.

Long way to go yet but the two goalscorers are those I'd pick to have needed the confidence boost at the moment.

Hopefully the kickstart we need this.

Just like 2011-12 for Liverpool (domestically). Poor in the league, good in the cups.

    Ah, I remember this Liverpool!

Does anyone know how many passes led up to the Sterling goal? It felt like a good 5 minutes without Bournemouth having possession.

51 passes before the first goal :):):)

Solid first half, thankfully we took our chances tonight. Keep the ball as well in the second half and no suicide defending, we should be ok. Maybe expect substitutions later for Gerrard, Sterling and possibly Henderson to save some energy for the weekend.

The Bournemouth fan blowing the whistle at the second goal must feel a right plank when all he did was put off his own defender, lol.

That's a fantastic stat. People should be talking about it more. :)

Why, oh why, couldn't we find a counter and finish like that on Sunday! Great stuff, 3-0 should see this game won.

Great skills and finish from Stirling. No matter who we're playing, this form now has to continue across all competitions.

Paid the price for taking a chance with no fullbacks.

People said the same about the game at Crystal Palace last May. I wouldn't write off Bournemouth just yet.
