So heartbreaking to read of this disaster especially so soon after the Glasgow tragedy. I can't help wondering though, if the driver was awake and conscious (as reports would suggest because he was sounding the horn to warn of his approach) why couldn't he turn the truck into a wall or something to avoid any hitting of pedestrians?

    He was possibly trying avoid an accident all together, rather than looking for one.

    Honestly if you were in a large vehicle that wouldn't stop, would you be able to think clearly?

    As someone who has been in a HGV of a similar size that also didnt want to stop, I can tell you it is bloody terrifying!

    Reports state that he was desperately trying to avoid crashing into anything.

    What a ridiculous post, suggesting that he should have made more effort....

    I'm sure the driver did everything he could and must be heartbroken that four people including a little girl have died.
