In partnership with Scotland team sponsor Vauxhall fans will be able to watch the game for FREE here at the Record website - with no charge and no registration required.

The friendly was set to be a pay-per-view event until Vauxhall stepped in and signed up with the Record to bring the game to fans.

Whilst The Times and The Sun have secured more famous sporting highlights clips, the Record seems to have gone one stage further and is showing an entire match. It's obviously very cheap rights but broadcast costs are still incurred.

Who would have shown it on pay per view? Perform Group?

Bear in mind there's still a misunderstanding about the phrase "pay-per-view" in the mainstream media. Many think it just means any subscription service.

It seems like the sort of game Premier Sports would have been interested in. I suspect the likes of the BBC and BT were waiting to see what happened in last week's Euro 2016 draw. Now that Scotland and Poland are in the same group together, this is likely to be a cagey bore-fest that both managers would have preferred to cancel.

You'd think they'd be among the most likely candidates, although Poland v Scotland is not listed on the upcoming events listings on Perform's livesport.tv or on the Bet365.com live sport schedule, indicating that they haven't (yet) picked up rights to it or at least made them public. That doesn't necessarily mean they won't be showing it - when the kind of deal the Daily Record appear to have struck for a one-off game has happened in the past, it hasn't precluded Perform from streaming such games in the UK on a non-exclusive basis as well.

I'd imagine it's fairly likely that they'd be able to gain rights to the match if there was no interest from the mainstream television broadcasters in the UK, given that they hold UK streaming rights to the Ekstrakalasa, with the PZPN (Poland's equivalent to the SFA) organising the Polish top flight. I'm sure they have streamed a few of Poland's home qualifiers and friendlies in the past. However, the Record has made a play of stating that their website is the only place you can watch the match, so it looks like they won't be able to in this particular case.
