Can't think of many I don't like but particularly like Solitaire, Close To You and Yesterday Once More. I think both Karen and Richard are very talented and should be featured more on TV music documentaries etc...
I also really like the dance cover CD album released a few years ago called Forever Carpenters. The singer (Jenny Sinclair) sounds just like Karen Carpenter and it's often hard to tell it isn't Karen Carpenter singing. The songs chosen also work really well with a dance/pop beat.
I love The Carpenters
I became a fan late last year, as they were never played during my childhood and people were always raving about how great Karen was, so i thought i would see what the fuss was, and my god she was and still will remain a true talent. Plus i saw a film about her as well.
I like 'Superstar', & 'Yesterday Once More', & 'Rain Days & Mondays' best.
I was surprised that the excellent 'Hurting Each Other' was
not included on their 20 Track 'Carpenters Gold' CD, which
has been back in the Top 100 of the Album Chart, for the past
2 Weeks.
The Carpenters never had a UK No.1 Single, but their 29
Weeks on top of the Album Chart, (3 No.1's), are the most
by an Act who never topped the Singles Chart.
another big carpenters fan here... i love all of their songs... my current faves are: one more time, you, trying to get that feeling again, sandy, i have you, only yesterday, goodbye to love, rainy days and mondays, a song for you, ticket to ride, i can dream can't i, etc... everything that karen sang including the demo for rainbow connection... lolz!!
Have been a fan of theirs since the early seventies. Their music has stood the test of time. Its timeless. What a beautiful rich, velvet and soulful voice Karen had.
Song for you
Rainy days and Monday's
I won't last a day without you
Yesterday once more
Sometimes
Goodbye to love
Merry Xmas Darling

Of course if you pull everybody up on titles of songs maybe you should get your own house in order first.
RAINBOW CONNECTION (or THE RAINBOW CONNECTION as it is sometimes billed) is a composition by noted songwriter/singer/actor PAUL WILLIAMS in collaboration with songwriter/musician KENNY ASCHER for the 1979 movie JIM HENSON'S THE MUPPET MOVIE. It was originally sung in the movie by KERMIT THE FROG (as voiced by the late JIM HENSON). A surprise radio hit, it charted on the Billboard Hot 100 peaking at #25 on November 24, 1979. Also in 1979, singer DANA VALERY recorded the song to somewhat give the song an adult contemporary sound. Since then, the song has been recorded a number of times by WILLIE NELSON, KENNY LOGGINS and JUDY COLLINS to name a few.

maybe that's why i considered it simply as "rainbow connection" but i see your point.

"Song for You" is my Favourite, Song for You
sorry to be pedantic but even the video you linked states the title is: "a song for you"
Oh, Im glad the pedantic police are out in force tonight, fair cop
i also like "this masquerade"
relax, there's only one of me... i love the carpenters and the title of their song is the title
Of course if you pull everybody up on titles of songs maybe you should get your own house in order first.
Its "The Rainbow Connection"
you are right, it was originally called "the rainbow connection"
it's just that plenty have referred to it as simply "rainbow connection":
