They were interviewing the lady who plays Tracey the barmaid on Breakfast this morning and billed her as ''the woman who never speaks.'' Suddenly the sound went and you couldn't hear her (it was a genuine technical fault apparently):D
Consolidated audience of 8.37m for episode 5 of Broadchurch, up 3.08m on the overnight of 5.29m.
To timeshift over 3 million viewers 5 weeks in a row is unprecedented. Fantastic stuff. It overtook Silent Witness too, which ended up on 8.26m (up a still fantastic 2.53m from an overnight of 5.73m).

Really odd last week for CBB. Looks like the final did dreadfully in comparison to the series. Would have thought that being up against the Six Nations during the final would have made the final add a lot on timeshift.

BBC1 Scotland not showing TOS tonight, not even time-shifting it or on BBC2, they have a documentary about Aviemore instead.Perhaps TOS does not perform well north of the border.
I thought this would be an interesting thing to post. Been researching 1980s viewing figures for my dissertation and came across ratings from the week EastEnders launched. I've added the times and days myself thanks to genome and a TV Times archive my university has access to.

The Casual Vacancy launched with over 6 million viewers on Sunday evening, overnight data reveals.
The BBC One adaptation of JK Rowling's novel was seen by an average audience of 6.61m (27.5%) at 9pm.
Call the Midwife continued to top the Sunday ratings, climbing over 100,000 viewers from last week to 8.95m (35.0%) at 8pm.
Earlier, Super Cute Animals appealed to 4.13m (21.9%) at 6pm, followed by Countryfile with 7.61m (35.1%) at 7pm. Match of the Day 2 scored 2.58m (19.8%) at 10.35pm.
On BBC Two, Top Gear entertained 5.44m (21.3%) at 8pm, while Dragons' Den gathered 2.51m (10.5%) at 9pm.
ITV's Get Your Act Together attracted 1.87m (8.4%) at 7pm, followed by Family Fortunes with 2.40m (9.4%) at 8.15pm. Mr Selfridge dropped around 700k to 3.17m (13.2%) at 9pm (302k/1.8% on +1).
On Channel 4, new drama Indian Summers opened with 2.57m (11.7%) at 9pm (413k/2.9%). Earlier, The Hotel brought in 1.22m (5.7%) at 7pm (176k/0.7%), while Auction House was seen by 1.18m (4.6%) at 8pm (134k/0.6%).
Channel 5's showing of War of the Worlds thrilled 863k (4.5%) at 9pm (99k/0.8%).

Normally it would be moved to BBC 2 (but Top Gear repeat may rate bettter) or 10.40 or even 11.40 on BBC 1 but tonight it wouldnt be able to be shown till 12.35am after Graham Norton special and Waterloo Road. Also it is available on Iplayer
Shocked about this. It was only getting what, around 300k in the overnights?.
I'm guessing ITV2 wants to build their comedy slate and the Job Lot is critically acclaimed as well.
Given how well promoted Indian Summers was, it's not too surprising that it debuted well, it is the sort of drama that would sit well on BBC One or BBC Two but I think Channel 4 should have a balance of more edgy material and audience pleasers. What they really need is a returnable drama series.
With the success of Wolf Hall and now Indian Summers, it does seem there is appetite for drama on the smaller channel so perhaps Channel 5 should take note and commission something that could attract 2m a week.
The Casual Vacancy did very well for BBC One, BBC One already is working with JK Rowling on an adaptation of The Cuckoo's Calling which I assumed would be a movie but I imagine they'll want to have a regular series with the character of Cormoran Strike.

I find the logic confusing, it's like My Postman didn't come to my house, so he doesn't love me anymore.
BBC Scotland has opt outs, tonight there limited in choice re live football.
TOS is back on tomorrow, and by the same logic, people North of the border do not like Holby as its on after the news on Tuesday's as River City is on.
Of course those Scots missing TOS can IPlayer it at any time.
Silent Witness ends with a series average of 8.29m, up 0.91m on last series. Only one episode was below 8m.
Just brilliant for Silent Witness. When I first heard it was going up against Broadchurch, I never thought it would end up increasing its ratings this year! That's a great result.
Broadchurch also putting in a fantastic performance - it'll definetly be back for a third series.
Also I really like the name "Cuffs" for BBC Ones new police show, I think I'm in the minority on that one

I cant see it reaching that high tbh, i did say 10million in soap thread, but who knows.
lol..humorless .
and yes I did read it
You know me all to well. Maybe I should be less predictable.

Aggregated consolidated for BC presumably?
Oh, and Ian did it.
Monday (8pm)- 1.97m
Monday (9pm)- 2.96m
Tuesday- 3.09m
Wednesday- 3.05m
Thursday- 3.10m
Friday- 3.04m
It's extremely odd that the final got less than the rest of the last week
The final series average of CBB15 is 3.085m (3.1m), making it the best rated on Ch5.
10,000BC:
Monday- 1.89m
Just had a look at Broadchurch's timeshift. Holy cow
To be fair the BBC doesn't have many programmes that have been running for 30 years and are still pretty popular:D

There's just a lot of hype for it. I'll probably be completely wrong tbh, haha.
